First, my collection of hats, my old Anser, and my other hobby. :) Don't know why, but if I am going to play well, I need to wear a hat I love too, so these are important to me

^ I LOVE this thing, as you may or may have not seen in multiple different hybrid topics. It needs a new shaft (stock shaft is basically crap), I'm going to first try a Bassara 415, bu damn do I love it. I drove a 245 yard green with it yesterday, and was able to freely use it off the tee whenever the driver wasn't necessary. Honestly, I'd buy a 14 degree head if Callaway made it and replace my 3 wood. It is just that good of a club.







^Definitely the club for for courses with long par 4's and 5's. It's so nice, and the VP80...mmmmm. I think one is going to have to go into my 3 wood.

I'm not even a fan of TM, but damn those were/are some nice looking and playing irons. I remember Tom Lehman and a bunch of others beating everyone with those things

They are just honestly gorgeous. I have to find out if they are Miura or not. I don't really care one way or the other, but that would make it extra special.

How do you tell if they are Miura? I have a set and wondered the same thing. Sweet sticks but mine have the 6.0s and are a little too stiff for me.

My understanding is that the Miuras will have a "Head made in Japan" sticker on the 5-iron shaft. Can one of the experts confirm this?

Updated picture from today before I went off.

 

The Tour Burner will be gone in favor of an R9 by my next outing (waiting for it in the mail) and hopefully will be installing a Fubuki in it soon.

 

Couldn't get the hybrids to work for me no matter what. Between offset and everything else, I just couldn't get consistent enough, at least not off the deck.

 

For today I went TB 9.5* - R9 15* and then 3-PW. I don't know why, but I have more confidence in myself with my irons, and I do get more consistency. I'm hoping the TEE XCG-3 will change that though. The 18* will fit perfectly gap wise for me, and if I don't like it, I'm just going to go back to my old 904f 5 wood.

The J33 was great, I loved and still love it, but with the NV it was a low launching bomb - which was awesome off the tee, I could take it out whenever my driver wasn't on and I didn't lose much - and I needed something with higher trajectory.

They both have great feel, but the R9 has a crisper face, where as the J33 is [i]slightly [/i]muted.

I'd try both, but really for me it was all about trajectory and feel. That and I like that If I am plying a short course I can just adjust the face of t he R9 to all the way open and with it's dynamic loft, it's really a lot closer to a 13* then it is a 15* and I can use it again, in place of my driver.

Good luck, both sticks are great and I still hit the J33 from time to time and will probably bag it at some point this summer.

I actually found it at a Nordstrom's rack store and got for something like 14 bucks. It's great for July golf around here, especially with how muggy it gets.

It's a Penguin brand if that helps, not sure on the exact name.

I have two sets of 300 Forged! I love the way they look at address.

Thinking about getting rid of one set, and finally getting some r9 tp's, because I've been dying to get them after playing a couple rounds with another set.

Take care of them, I put iron covers on mine (yes, seriously) because they are such a soft forging.

Mine have held up pretty well. I love the feel so much, I wish the new groove rule wasn't in affect, if I ever do end up getting to compete at a professional level of any kind, these babies would definitely be the clubs I'd want to use.

I need to throw new pickups in it, and I'm toying with the idea of putting in a new neck... but golf and work seem to take up all my time (and I don't get paid enough ).

Also, the pics are updated to show my new hybrid. Should be updated again in two weeks with a new shaft.

I think the lead tape made it a must buy, I don't know, but I was hitting it so well, and I've been wondering If I wanted to convert to a 13* for a while now... and I just had to.

 

The stock shaft is actually pleasant, it fits with what the feel of this club should be, and in general, I love the way it sets up and plays. The paint fill is starting to come out, but that's ok, it still bombs it. ;) I don't know if I will be using this off the deck at all, but right now, with how inconsistent my driver has been, I'm hoping to use this as a fairway finder off the tee that will be able to keep me somewhere near my driver.

 

It also fits my gaps with the strong 17.5* r7 5 wood I have. I'll be on the course Thursday, so we will see if I need it/how it plays. :D
