what do you think of the new ping hoofer extreme?

well my first thought when I saw this bag was that it looked really stupid with that strap sticking up, but now it's starting to grow on me. I'm sure it probabaly works pretty well, but I really liked the older hoofers. Any input from you guys out there?

If you're comparing the '05 Hoofer Extreme to the '06 Hoofer Extreme, then I'd say I think the new one is better. The legs on the '05 were horrible on windy conditions, and for me that's the only conditions I've played in so far this year. I think the quality was poor compared to older Hoofer models in the '05 Hoofer, I'm not sure if they changed that at all or not.

O god I got the 05 for x-mas and everytime there is a little wind it tips over and annoys the living f*ck outta me.

To be honest the '05 is ... poor. I have been a Ping fan forever but the stand on the '05 was soo bad. The new one does look much improved and I may purchase one when I get sucidal with my Extreme.

2nd that! Its a sharp bag with my team colors, name, and logos, but the clubs get tangled so easy. My other bag is an Ogio, and compared to the Hoofer, the organization and neatness is a night and day difference.

i dont like it. I'm used to the hoofer 3 and it has so many more pockets, i just can't get myself to give up all that room!

Yup, it isn't just you guys on having problems with the stand in windy conditinos, in the tournament at newport we had 40-45mph wind gusts, and my bag tipped over almost every single hole atleast once. This isn't the only problem I have had with the ping bags, I have had to bring my '05 Hoofer Extreme back to the shop that I bought if from 2 times to get replacements, in addition to the stand being bad, the fabric just doesn't seem to hold up. Right where my back hits the bag, that seam has torn on the 2 bags that I have had. If this one tears, which if I keep my record going, it will, I am going to ask to get the 2006 version of the Hoofer Extreme. I love the bag itself, but Ping seems to really have slipped in the quality of their bags.

I wasnt happy with my Ping at all....I have an 05 version and the actual back bone of the bag has come out...I think Iwill look elsewhere in future

The 05 bag is our bag 4 school. It looks dumb b4 a match when all of our bags blow over on the practice green. :yahoo:

The extremes are TERRIBLE. Uncomfortable, tangly with tons of dividers, and the stand is terrible. Plus the strap that sticks up is ugly. I'm sticking with my hoofer 3.
