Bridgestone e6 vs. Srixon Trispeed

I prefer the Srixon Trispeed over the e6 (older version have not tried the new e6 yet) as being the best ball tee to green for me. I found with the Trispeed I was getting more distance off the tee than the e6 with the same type of sidespin control. With my hybrids and mid irons the trispeed had a better flight and would give a little more roll after a softer landing. While the short game with the balls were similar and neither really spin much off your wedges the Trispeed still had an advatange over the e6 where I found the Srixon would be closer to my target on the green vs the Bridgestone. Finally the Trispeed seemed to have a smoother roll off the putter which I liked alot. I found the older version of the e6 to be softer than the trispeed and there fore felt a little mushy at times.

All in all they are both very good balls and don't get me wrong Bridgestone makes a excellent product but for me Srixon won out more and is my first choice for golf balls.

There are 2 new version of the Trispeed launched earlier this year, Trispeed and Trispeed Tour. The Trispeed Tour is suppose to have more spin then the Trispeed (Regular) but I have not had a chance to give them a try yet. I'd suggest to get a sleeve of the normal trispeed and the trispeed tour and give them a try to see if they fit your game.

Well if you believe the chart on the lower right of http://www.srixon.co...s_trispeed.html then the new trispeed offers:
1.) Longer driver distance and similar wedge spin, plus
2.) Higher launch with less driver spin

than the e6+.

Of course there is no scale and its manufacturer provided data so...

Yeah, that chart means absolutely nothing without knowing the speed at which the balls were tested, also robot testing doesn't do the average golfer much good, as they do not hit it in the middle of the face every time like a robot.

I tried the new TriSpeed and found it performed pretty well. Unfortunately, durability was poor.

I found the TriSpeed very durable. Did you lose pieces of the cover or get cuts into the ball?

Played 2 rounds with the same ball and it still looks new.

A urethane ball like a Prov or TP Black would have lots of cover missing after 36 holes.

Played in cool weather and the Trispeed felt soft off the driver (which I like), irons and putter. Good distance on all the clubs. As long and straight as any other ball I have played.

Greens were soft so I cant really comment on the balls green biting ability. I had no problem keeping it on the green since they were so soft.

Driver: Titleist  Tsi2
FW's: Callaway Rogue 4w
Hybrids: X2 Hot 3&4
Irons: Ping G410 Reg Graphite 5-UW
Wedges: Callaway MD3 56
Handicap 9
Putter: Zing2 BeCu among others

I had problems with scuffing. In one round, I had 4 balls get serious scuff marks without hitting any trees, cartpaths, or using aggressive grooves on my wedges. While I might expect it from a Urethane ball, I don't think it was acceptable durability for a mid-priced ball. Since I was very impressed by the TriSpeed's performance, the durability problems were very disappointing. One of the reasons I rarely play with "Tour" balls is the cost of replacing easily scuffed balls.

Yesterday, I played an entire round with two e6's using the exact same equipment. I needed two b/c one got wet.
