Easy to Hit

I'm just curious how easy to hit fairway woods are. I'm going to go out and hit a few tomorrow, but it'd be nice to have a rough idea. Like is it easier to hit a hybrid (say Nike CPR) than a 4 wood of the same loft? If not, what iron would you compare hitting a fairway wood to, from a purely "ease of hitting" point of view? Can you suggest some easy to hit fairway woods from both the deck and the tee? I'm already looking at the Cobra SZ, Nike T60, Adams Ovations, but more suggestions are more than welcome, but they need to be forgiving and easy to hit.

I was going to comment that i agree with this assessment, the Callaway FW's are as good as any right now.

 

I am currently playing a Fusion 15* w/ a YS-9.1 in and could not be happier, VERY forgiving and as long as any i own. I also have a BB FW and have had incredible results with it as well, there may be " better" fairway clubs to some, but if you want forgiveness and distance i vote Callaway.

I think you're going about your search in the best way possible, hit as many different models (FW's and Hybrids) as you can get your hands on. After much experimentation and play over the last 10 years I know I'm better off with hybrids because for some reason I just don't hit traditional FW woods consistently well, but I've got a higher handicap friend who doesn't hit his driver or irons well but he's money with traditional FW woods. Of all the FW's I've tried the Cobra SZ was the most user friendly with the Cleveland Launcher Titanium, Ping G2, Adams RPM Low Profile and Nike T60 pretty easy to hit as well. If you tend to slice these clubs I think the SZ (and probably the newer Speed series) and Adams RPM Low Profile Draw bias are very good. Among hybrids I prefer the iron-like models (love my Mizuno Fli-Hi II's), and of the wood shaped hybrids I like the Cleveland Halo and Mizuno Fli-Hi CLK. Good luck and keep experimenting, there are so many good clubs in the FW/hybrid category that I think you'll be able to find one or more that suits your eye at address and works well with your swing.

You should try the T-60 (nike)

I just got a couple of T-60 Ignites and I really don't like them as much as the TM V-Steels. Try out the TaylorMades and I am sure you will see why so many people are still playing them.

 

I have also tried some Sonartecs which set up more open than the TM's but seem very nice. I just can't remember which model they were.

Adams Ovations are very easy to hit. You might also check out the new Adams RPM LP models, they are outstanding !!!
