ProLaunch Red is a stiff tip version of ProLaunch Blue. Think ProLite with Micro-mesh technology. The Blue is not tip stiff, it's butt stiff. For golfers with a slower tempo it only feels tip stiff becuase they aren't getting past the butt stiffness.

That might explain why it seems like my driver balloons a little...I used to play a Prolite and now play a Blue, thinking it was basically a Prolite. Granted, the 905S has a significant thru-bore, so that might help. I loaded the crap out of the Prolite 35 stiff in my 975D/J. Was the Blue the wrong choice all this time?

 

What happens if the club is too tip stiff?

 

Also, Grafalloy says the ProLaunch has a weaker tip than the Blue, thus making the ProLaunch Red closer to a Blue...

Grafalloy's site shows ProLaunch as a low kick shaft and Blue as a mid kick shaft. ProLaunch Red is said to be a high kick point shaft like ProLite. Blue is a good shaft for quick tempo players, slower or average tempo players would see a lower ball blight because of the butt stiffness.

i checked the website and it has the launch on the chart lower than the blue. i for one cant wait until it comes out.

its the new prolite 35 then? Yes i think its an nv competitor. Is the blue on the way out then? I cant see where it fits now.

I could see the Blue being on the way out. I think the shaft feels horrible and I know some previous versions of the shaft felt like a fence post in stiff flex. It is definately the least sold shaft in our store.

If the stiff is too stiff, then go with regular. 2.8* torque doesn't mean nothing :yahoo:
