What shaft works well in Sonartec MD?

Have a 19* already.
I'm looking for an X flex shaft that is 75 to 85 grams. I was thinking of the V2 hybrid but the ones that I have found are only up to 65 grams. I was also thinking of the Grafalloy Comp NT hybrid, but again, same problem. I know that you can get the V2 from the UST Tour dept., but I don't know who I would contact for this, and how much it might cost. Also, what would be the difference in ballflight to do the non-hybrid versions of these shafts. Would it be too low? Thanks.

I hate to give such a "low brow" response, and this is coming from as big an equipment snob as anyone, but the factory optional I-Rod shaft works great in it for me. Moderate controllable ball flight, not too high not too low, plays true to flex spec too. Kind of a 10 cent solution to a $200 problem, but give it a try, you might like the results.

i didnt mind the irod X flex in this club, although the flight was a tad low for my liking...just replaced it with the new harrison impulse shaft, they only come in S and R, but i talked to someone from the factory and ended up tipping it 2 inches to achieve the x flex and i can now hit it as high as i want...big fan of the shaft and unbelievably enough...only costs about $40

Joe Kwok is one of the UST tour dealers and has the hybrid shaft as well as a range of other V2's. I'm pretty sure he would be able to chime in with the differences between the V2 hybrid and fairway oriented shafts. My thinking is that the hybrid shafts are designed to get the ball up higher and quicker. I'm not a fan of tipping a weaker shaft 2" though as I'm thinking you'll lose the feel (though I don't have any experience with the Harrison line--but if the shaft only comes in R and S, I'm sure it's got a very low kick for slower swingers so would also help to elevate ball--but at the cost of mucho spin and probably poor dispersion/high-torque . . . maybe :D ). The Fuji Banzai is a relatively low cost option (sub-hunny), and is designed w/a soft tip.

Just for the sake of beating a dead horse, I've got an Md w/ a hybrid and so far it's working beautifully. I was kind of worried about trajectory as I've read much about it launching low, but thus far zero problem (well, except when I got myself behind a tree, but I don't think I can blame that on the head or the shaft--darned photographers always taking pictures mid-swing :idhitit: ). Good luck though, please let us know what you do decide to do and if it helps.
