Epon AF-302's vs Miura CB-501's

302 is more forgiving and softer than the 501. 302s have been in the bag now for a year and a half, 501s lasted 3 weeks. the 501s did feel a bit more dense but IMO the 302 is far superior...best forged cb all around I've ever hit.

I prefer the 302 myself for ease of use compared to 501 just wish they made a lower offset version. The 302 was my Eureka moment when it came to JDM. Incredible all around irons that almost anyone can use. The 501 are more a true players cavity. (Which I prefer in looks department.)

for those that prefer a more compact iron, i'm not sure the onoff's can be compared to the 302's or 501's.

I own both Epon AF301/501 combo set, and the Miura CB501. I put each respective set in my clubhouses, they are that good I enjoy playing either set anytime. But if you put a gun to my head and I have to choose one, I will say Epon, since they are softer and I hit them longer.

This is just goes to show you that to each his owne, I have both sets the 302's and the miura 501's maybe its the shafts but the difference for me is huge. I have been playing the Miura's for a couple weeks, and I really like this set of irons. The epons I was thinking about reshafting, but there is no reason to do so, because I am loving the 501's. Just a really well ballanced iron, the top line is perfect, and I feel like it is easier to hit than the epon's. For me the wider sole of the epon gets in the way.

I played my buddies CB-501's for a 2 weeks and played a total of 9 rounds with them. I have never played
Epon irons but the CB-501 irons are the nicest feeling irons I have ever played.
I wonder why any tour player would not have them in the bag?
Would you really sacrifice so much to have a TM or Titleist contract?
It's two different worlds altogether. I was surprised to see KJ take his out of the bag.
Do you think Muira or EPON lack playability on a level we as non professionals can't see?
I was a 4 handicap when I played the 501's and I think of myself as pretty good golfer and I was able to flight the ball and shape shots just as well as I coukd with my Titleist 710 CB-MB combo set. I haven't played much because of a injury lately but I will play the 501's when I'm ready to buy unless the 714's are up to par with the 501's.

I have a set of AF-Tour/AF-302 mixed together and I was trying to find more AF-302's to complete my set. What I heard from a vendor was that Epon was having problems getting clubs through U.S Customs. I'm not sure if they have the same problem in B.C but I wouldn't be surprised.

I'm holding on to these Satin Epon's forever! I tried that Miura 501's but didn't get along with the sharp leading edge at all.
