Adidas Japan-Smoked EZ1-Adams Superhybrid-Tad Moore-Bettinardi

Here's the updated bag for 2010. I liked my Adidas stand bag from 2009 so much that I thought I'd keep the brand and flip the colors. White is much cooler for the AZ summer anways!

Stand bag is Adidas Japan. Bought this and the white head covers from Fujibuy. Excellent customer service. Great communication with fast emails. Shipping is pricey but this bag came from Japan to Phoenix in four days! Love the detail of the Japan stand bags. The Adidas stripes have a carbon fiber look. White leather (ette) has a pebbled texture and the contrasting black, silver piping makes this bag really stand out. Lots of storage space. Nice stand mechanism. Feels a little lighter than my previous standbag. But I don't walk and carry at all so this is not a big deal. Fits nicely in the pull and golf cart.








Driver and FW have the remained the same. Really happy with this combo for the past year. Adams A4/9015. Changed shaft from Fubuki to Harrison Saga and FW is the 15 degree TEE XCG-V with Voodoo shaft. Anyone looking for a FW should try and find a TEE to demo. Excellent club. The Harrison Saga goes nicely with the A4. Nice flat trajectory with good rollout. I like the matte black appearance of the shaft and the honeycomb pattern matches up nicely with the Bettinardi.





Irons have also stayed the same. Scratch EZ-1s. A fellow GolfWrxer was kind enough to part with his limited Smoked Satin set. Paired these up with KBS black nickels and a cord grip from Tourspec to keep the Japan theme going.







Wedges are Scratch TD. Had them refinished last year by Iron Factory. They've held up really well given the amount of play they have seen. Grooves still sharp.





New hybrids for the year. 19 degree Adams super hybrid and 23 degree pro black hybrid with Voodoo Shafts. I was really happy with my Taylormade r7 CGB max hybrids but decided it was time to move one to something new. The Adams Super hybrid has a similar head shape to the r7 in the sense that it is shaped more like a FW than a hybrid. I only wish it came in a 23 degree loft.





I really liked the Voodoo shaft in my FW and now its Voodoo across the board.





Here come the putters. First off is a Mizuno Bettinardi BC-7. After Phil won the Master's I was inspired to try an 8802 style putter. Count me as another huge fan of this style putter. Really love the "freedom" of the 8802 style. Nothing but a simple blade to get the ball rolling straight. Picked up this beautiful Bettinardi on ebay for a steal. Love it!! Changed the paintfill, grip and got rid of the Mizuno HC. Looks stealthy now. Nice matte black look. Love the feel of the fit face.






The Betti got me looking for another 8802 style. Thanks to stage1350 for mentioning the Tad Moore Barn Find in another thread. This may be my best value buy of the year. Gorgeous 3X black oxide. Head milled by Bettinardi. Hand stamped 6/50. Insert is mokume which is a mixture of copper, brass, nickel and silver. Stunning piece of work.

Pics of the driver/3W can be found in the 2009 link. They hadn't changed so I left out new pics.

I felt the same way about the BC7 (BB2). Luckily the Mizuno Bettinardi's are on clearance and I got one for a price I wouldn't feel too guilty if it didn't work out. I spent one night on my Boomerang trainer and have not looked back. Not as hard as I thought and I feel like a have a much smoother stroke, less yipping with the simple head. Now on the hunt for more 8802 styles.

Thanks guys for all the kind remarks. I originally wanted to do a bag with some color but ultimately went with the black/white theme. I think it worked out OK.

Tinted windows? yes. I live in Phoenix. Absolutely need them in the summer. Black rims? Uhhhh...no.

 

How did you get rid of the paintfill on BC7?

I read somewhere that the black matte finish turns cloudy when using paint stripper so all I did was put black paintfill over the original paintfill.

 

What does the Adams Super Hybrid headcover look like? I'm interest to seeing it as I haven't seen it posted anywhere yet. Maybe you could post a quick pic of it?

Looks just like the Idea Pro hybrid HC just bigger. I'll try to get a pic of the two side by side up tonight.
