Old Works GC is a Nickalus Design opened in 1997, and was voted 2nd "Best New Affordable Golf Course" by Golf Digest. It simply the best public golf course in Montana, and must be experienced by all golfers alike. Combine great golf with beautiful scenery, it just doesnt get any better than Old Works.

Drove through Anaconda two days ago and usually do at least once a summer. One of these times I'm going to have to stop for the night with an early morning tee time the next day.

Born and raised in Montana and my Mom is from Anaconda so my Dad and I play there whenever we visit family. My brother in law wanted to play the course so bad he played while in a leg brace (recovering from ACL surgery a month or two before) this past summer.

Got to see Jack himself give a clinic on the range and play the course back when it opened. My brother and I were never able to fight through the crowds to get an autograph so we mailed the tickets to his company. A few months later we got an envelope from Nicklaus' company and our two tickets were inside, both with signatures. I can't confirm their authenticity but the two signatures were slightly different and definitely not stamped.

I love this course! One of the most unique in the world. When I played, the wind kicked up to 30-40 mph for the back nine. It was brutal going into the wind. It's the only course I've ever played with full practice holes to play before your round. Great course...a real diamond in the rough.

Nice course. Watch out for the wind as the design already has teeth (black ones)!
Everyone knows about OW but there are ten other tracks in the state I'd rather play.

Awesome and unique course with black sand bunkers.

If you go there, make sure you have dinner at Barclays II Supper Club in town ( about a block or so away).......the best steaks ever!

I live in Western Montana and just started golfing last summer. I definetly need to find an execuse to get over to Anaconda and play it.

was in Butte Montana yesterday on business. I got done early and looked for golf in the area, and came upon Old Works. I was very pleasantly surprised. Loved the black slag bunkers and history of the course. I'll play again when I get back there.
