Jason Day, who has been out with injuries since Augusta. Day put three of the new wedges in his bag at the Wells Fargo Championship for the week.

The ATV wedge features a sole design that permits the player to use it from a variety of lies in the fairway, rough and bunker. TaylorMade says that the club's bounch angle changes depending on how the head and face are positioned, giving the player more options with a single wedge.

"Day is a player who's been especially fond of the TP xFT wedges," TaylorMade spokesperson Charlie Kautz said in an email. "This week we built him three new ATV to match the specifications - loft and lie - of his gamers and he went to work Monday, taking the 60-degree to the short game area in the afternoon. The report back to the truck some 40 minutes later from his caddy, Colin: 'It's the best wedge he's ever had.'"

Coming off an ankle injury, Jason Day recorded a top-10 at the HP Byron Nelson Championship while using a new TaylorMade RBZ Tour driver - 9 degrees with a Matrix TPHD7 shaft.

"He was picking up 6-8 yards while tightening his dispersion considerably," wrote Charlie Kautz, TaylorMade's PGA Tour correspondent, in an e-mail.

Day won on the TPC Four Seasons course in 2010 and had another excellent week, averaging 322.3 yards off the tee (5th best in the field for the week).

"It was tough conditions out there today with the wind," he said Saturday, "but I felt like I was trying to stay as patient as possible and got away with a few shots out there, but overall very, very happy with how the day went.

"I feel like my game suits this course, and with the tough conditions normally, it's pretty windy, as everyone knows around here, and I feel like I'm a pretty good wind player."
