Joe Kwok installed the shaft for me into an R7 Tp head for me. I was using a 983E with a fuji pro 95 and have been looking for a very similar shaft that is lighter. Well Joe finally gave me what I was looking for. This shaft provides an excellent trajectory for me , very strong with lots of roll when the ball lands. The shaft feels tighter than the pro 95 and much much lighter. It is the best shaft that I have ever hit by far. The only problem with it was that the club turned out soo good that when I let the president of my company hit it he loved it and knew immediately that it was the best driver he had ever hit(because of the shaft). So I am now using my 983 untill i get another R7 LOL

I had a J340 9.5 head laying around doing nothing...and a rombox 7v05 laying around doing nothing. I decided to introduce them to each other..and bombed 3 drives over 300 today, two of which were in the 330 neighborhood. Unheard of in calm conditions for me....

My ft-3 shaft has some shaft play so I benched it until I get Joe to take a look see...so this rombax/j340 combination was a great find. This shaft is awesome...great feel, tip is lively but not overly so. Nice high penatrating ballflight and low spin.... Really thinking of trying this in the FT-3...maybe slightly tipping a stiff....This could be the 70g shaft I have been looking for many years..a must try from a certified shaft ho

actually rocky it is not... told you alot of times I experiment..the next rombax will be pured. Right now it's really at 6 oclock as well :clapping: ...must be something to 6 oclock

330 is exceptional for me...definately not the normal...my usual is probably 280-300 if nutted.. conditions have to be right for me to be 300+. My SS is 108-110.. maybe and occasional 115...Maybe I hit a sprinkler head...

I think it's pretty much a japan product as this moment...

it's ~70g and 3.6 Torque..midhigh kick.. lowspin.. real stable.. I'm also playing a stiff instead of my usual X...No loss of control yet so I might stick with a stiff.

I got about 20 shafts sitting in the corner..over half tour spec fujikuras..I just cant seem to part with them even when I know I should....

I have not tried a NT..I have tried the aldila protopype (another nano shaft) not bad at all..kinda like a speeder 757 for me.

Rombax will set you back ~300+ I think.. best shaft I've tried and longest combo for me since Graphite designs CP-02...

5 star... :cheesy:

longer than 660tr

better trajectory than 757

feels better than any high end fuji or diamana

ONLY shaft that compete's with this (overall performance) for me is the PM702.

Rombax tourspec recovers faster than any other shafts I'VE ever tried.

660tr was my favorite.... i sold that driver on ebay! :ok:

but im glad i found the right shaft for me

my 2 cents like always

Joe Kwok installed the 705b prototype in my 905T, which is the same as regular rombax. I can't say enough good things about this shaft. It gives the perfect ball flight and roll. It feels tight, but not boardy. I hit this thing really far especially on carry. I was in Florida this week and was carrying some drives 300+. I would say that if fuji brings this shaft out in the US and big time tour players start to use it that it would probably have more success than the 757 speeder, it's that good.

Can anybody compare the trajectory to the 757? Golfcraze mentions that it has a better trajectory than the 757, but not sure what is "better" to him.

I struggle to keep my ball flight/spin down, and definitely would not want a shaft which launched higher than the 757.

I was testing an R7 425 TP with a Stiff 75 g shaft the other day. I had heard that that shaft is supposed to be the same as or similar to the Rombax. However, the R7 shaft was a few grams heavier and had a 2.5 torque, which seems to be heavier and lower torque than the regular Rombax.

The shaft felt great and seemed easier to load than the 757. I was getting very good results on the launch monitor, even though my launch angle and spin were a little high (14 degrees, 3000-3100 rpm). According to the monitor, I hit several in the 305-310 range, which is about 15-20 yards longer than I normally see on the monitor with my current club (R7 TP with 757 Stiff).

My regular ball speed is in the mid 160's, but I was reaching 170 with the 425 TP. Don't know how much was due to the larger clubhead. But, if this is attributable to the Rombax shaft recovering faster, I'm getting one for my next driver.

I have finally found my driver shaft. I installed the shaft 2.5 inches in a 905S 10.5. It hits flat bombs without spin that just feel right to me. No more upshooting into the wind for me!

The shaft is perhaps a touch easier to load than the 757, but tighter in the tip than the 771TA. It doesn't have the velvety feel of the 771TA, but still feels great. I would say the shaft has a feel akin to the Diamana 83, with even less spin than the Diamana.

If you don't put much spin on your driver, or do not use enough loft, you will NOT like this shaft. A guy like me whose swing fault creates too low a trajectory combined with too much spin, can benefit from this shaft combined with plenty of loft.

Hope this review helps somebody, now I need Fujikura to come out with a little heavier Rombax for my 3 wood.

Thanks Joe Kwok for setting up this awesome driver for me! (cool)

Hi guys,

First post. I’ve been lurking for awhile and I appreciate the effort everyone puts in to make this board a great one.

I want to shout out Joe Kwok Golf. He is great to work with and does a fantastic job. He wasn’t feeling great but still managed to finish my club and send it off very promptly. First rate and I highly recommend him.

I sent my Mizuno MX 500 10.5* driver to install the Fujikara Rombax Proto with a .5-1” tip to promote a flex between S/XS. I had the stock Exsar stiff which seemed fine to me. I learned to play using this driver/shaft combo, so I did not know any better. I wanted to change shafts, because my instructor told me the exsar shaft was pretty crappy.

I’m an aggressive swinger with pretty fast swing speed. I haven’t been measured but I’m probably up there in 110 range. The difference between the two shafts is marked. The Fuji provides a lower, more boring trajectory and has great shape. I have a slight natural draw, but it’s easier to control the shape. I’m not sure if it’s the shaft or my increasing skill, but the shaft sure does give me more confidence.

At first, the shaft seems really whippy, but it was just because I was over swinging. Once I adjusted to it and started a more smooth backswing/downswing, it was perfect.

I have to admit that it’s not cheap, and I probably would not have gotten it if it weren’t for a recent windfall in Las Vegas, but I am really happy with it and I think it players of all skill levels would benefit from it.

Thanks for reading

Jae

Great question!

I'm new to the board, but this question is one I'd also like to hear some feedback on. I've played the blueboard 73s in an 8.5 ft3 for a long time and recently switched to a 9 degree Exotics tour pro (2 degree open face) with a Aldila protopype 70X flex.

I love the control the protopype gives and it's abillity to bring my normally higher ball flight down, but misshits on the Exotics driver are not as forgiving as the FT-3.

I'm awaiting the new FT-5t 8.5 and am trying to decide between the whiteboard 73x or a Rombax of similar stature. I'd like to see some roll out instead of "carry and stop" and have a more boreing flight. I've been told the whiteboard should do just the trick, but would love to hear about the Rombax as many have said it's longer for them.

I prefer the x flex for the better control, but have found the lighter 70g is a must.

SS is 115-117 w/ driver and I can get just over 300 in good conditions.

Thanks for any thoughts you can share with the new guy.

Jeff
