Adams a2 vs Nickent 3DX DC

Between the Adams a2 (not the OS version) and the Nickent 3DX DC, which is more anti left. I currently have the Hogan CFT 2h and 3h and am thinking of replacing the 2h. It is too close in yaradage to the 3h being 19 degrees. I am thinking of either the Adams 18 degree or the Nickent 17 degree. I am a 4 handicap with a driver swing speed of 105+. The Hogan certainly hooks if i go after it but if I swing smoothly and try and hold the face square, i can generate a straight ball flight.

Any comments would be helpful.

The DC model is more draw biased than last years model. It's also feels and sounds hollower.

I recently replaced a Nickent 20° Tour (pre DC) with a Adams A2TS 19°. The Adams has a more solid feel and a little higher launch. I would say the look of both is comparable. The Adams is slightly more accurate and also a more forgiving. The Nickent had a Accra hybrid shaft and the Adams has an Ozik Altus HB so that needs to be factored in. I know these are slightly different then the two models you are considering but I thought the feedback may help.

I read that the DC model is actually more anti-left than the original version. The weigthing is spread between heel and toe as opposed ot being heel weighted in the original version. Can anyone confirm that?

I have the Adams A2 20º with an Accuflex Icon HL stiff, and the Nickent 3DX DC with their Aldila NV 75 hybrid stiff.

 

I would say both clubs do an excellent job in avoiding the dreaded hybrid "lefts." Of the two, the Adams seems to be even more "anti-left." Both are very easy to hit well. Installing the ICON HL into the Adams has really brought that club alive for me. I have also heard very good things about the 3DX DC with the ICON as well.

The Adams head has a more "lively" and hot feel to it. The 3DX DC's results are very good, but the feel is a different, more muted "thwack" sensation. It is VERY long though. The Adams is a lighter, "springier" feel -if you will.

 

Both outstanding clubs and hard to choose!! Glad I don't have to! :drinks:

I really like my Accuflex Icon HL shafted 3DX DC ( Big Thanks to Jody at Accuflex and GolfWRX :drinks: ), very solid feeling and workable club that performs well for me. I personally don't think you could go wrong with either club, give them both a shot.

The original was not heel weighted. The weight was in the back of the head :drinks:

Thanks for all your replies. In looking at the two side by side, the Adams seems a little less offset so I will likely go with that with the stock Aldila shaft to start. We'll see how it goes.

 

It is also in 18 degrees as opposed to the Nickent which is 17 degrees, which fits my bag better between my 15 degree 3 wood and my 21 degree Hogan 3h.
