How many full length dividers for a good stand bag?

I need some help deciphering the product descriptions for stand bags.

When a bag is described as having a "6-way" top (or some other number) and "full length dividers" does that mean is has 6 full-length dividers? I have a Callaway Chev 18 with a 6 way top, but only 3 full length dividers. The clubs constantaly get tangled and I'm looking for another, relatively light-weight bag (does not have to be a feather weight) that will keep things organzied.

Also the "zip-off" apparael pocket on the chev 18 sucks. The zipper broke pretty quickly. So I'm looking for good, solid construction.

I think I need at least 6 full-length divers. Any thoughts? Suggestions? How many full-length dividers do you have?

If a product claimed a 6 way top with full length dividers I'd expect every compartment to be completely divided. If not, I'd consider that to be misleading.

In your case I'd expect them to say 6 way top with 3 full length dividers (BTW, are you sure? If your bag is only divided into 3 parts with full length dividers then you probably only have 2 of them).

That said, a lot of bags today don't use full length dividers for every compartment. Even them, you can find cases here where some of those have only gone 3/4 of the way down.

Thanks BlkNGld ... I think you're right. I have 2 full-length dividers, which divide my bag into 3 sections. Another issues is that they may not be "full leng" but only about half the bag.

What bag do you carry?

I've got a Sun Mountain MPB. 14 full length - or so I think -- dividers.

Unfortunately after 5 years the stand mechanism is starting to go and the legs flail like a newborn zebra, and SM no longer makes it.

I got a SM3.5 for my daughter and I'm pretty impressed with it. However the divider is the same as yours.

The new 3.5 has what they're calling 4 way box dividers... from what I can tell that means some wide top and bottom areas with full length dividers with the middle area split with a divider and a pair of 'bags' in each area and attached to the bottom. Fewer compartments but each fully divided.
