AZ WRX winter outing*updated*

Just tossing a feeler out there to see how many people would be interested in a winter outing like we had last year at Ahwatukee? I don't mind taking the lead and setting it up, just hopefully we'll have more than we had at the last summer outing haha.


I'll take the lead as far as setting it up at either the duke, club west, or Ahwatukee. Obviously Ahwatukee is going to be the cheapest option and gives me the most flexibility with no shows etc. Should we shoot sometime for early January before Spring semester of school starts back up?

Depends on when it takes place.

I graduate in a week so school isn't an issue, but I'll probably be on vacation early January and then out of town with work later that month.

Damn, if the Huskers could have hung on to beat Oklahoma and made the Feista Bowl it would have given me a great excuse to be down there around that time. I would have loved to have been able to meet some people to play. I'll keep watching anyway for the date, you never know.

I voted Club West only because I haven't been out there for a while. But the Tukee is nice because you can walk it.

I haven't been to Club west recently, but heard it was in pretty good shape. My only beef with Club West is that they took all of the GPS units out of the carts, and the yardages are horrifically marked there.

It is pretty bad, if one team didnt have to go to the playoffs its very likely that the whole conference would have top 10-15 draft picks. With my luck the 49ers will be that team to win the division then get blown out in the first round and cost themselves about 10 spots in the draft.

Other than the two SIX FREAKING HOUR rounds, a great time. Thank goodness for the 2 for 1 beer special. Longbow finished 6th out of 18 teams. The event was won by.... the team from WeKoPa! Surprise! Great event that included a Friday practice round and reception (that I was unable to make), a goodie bag full of some serious swag, lunches and post-round hors d'oeuvres each day.

Both courses in SPECTACULAR condition. My second play of the Cholla course, and my memory of it was confirmed. A visually stunning course but very demanding. The Saguaro remains my favorite in town.

I set aside 4 groups for us(16 spots), just in case more people sign up. I just have to let them know a final number a few days before hand so they can free up the empty tee times.
