I hate this!

I am currently in my 6th hour of work today, its the summer, this is due tomorrow, and I'm angry! :cheesy: I am currently signed up for three Advanced Placement courses for next year (they count as college credits some places) and this is gonna be rough. The two assignments due this week are a 6 page paper on a phychosomatic illness with research and a history assignment with fifty short answer identifications (5 sentance minimum if you want an A), two maps of Europe in the 14th century (Where the heck is Avignon!!!!), and 4 essays of 2 typed pages each. I'm going to have a massive appaplectic hemorage soon, and I'm not kidding. :man_in_love: ;) :cheesy: :) :cheesy:

Yeah, graduated with 43 college credits had I gone to my state school, unfortunately, Amherst takes none of them except to place out of intro stuff.

 

I was class of 2006 but these are what I took over the past few years.

 

Sophomore yr.

AP European History

 

Junior yr.

AP English Lit/Comp.

AP Calculus AB

AP Chemistry

AP Spanish Language

 

Senior yr.

AP English Lang/Comp.

AP Calculus BC

AP Physics

AP Macroeconomics

AP U.S. Gov't

AP Statistics

 

 

They count for credit at most state schools with a 3, 4, or 5 but at some private schools only 4 or 5 if you're lucky. As with my school the only thing I get is that I can skip to the major level econ. classes and multivariable calculus and the upper level sciences.

 

 

Avignon is where they moved the papacy to in France when they had the great schism . That was a couple years back for me but I believe it was the borgian pope and the regular pope at the time. One located in the vatican as has always been the case and one located in Avignon, France.

 

 

The ID's are important for sure because if you don't know them, then you won't have a clue on the questions, more particularly the essay questions on the history exams.

 

 

 

 

P.S. I guess english isn't one of your AP's......bc if you're going to have anything its going to be a hemorrhage...lol. JK man.

I got a 4 in my AP Euro class, i hope the school i go to gives me college credit for the course

I was not in AP to my senior year... I thought they were as easy or easier then the standard courses. Maybe it was the teachers. In any case I wish I would have done it sooner.

Avignon is indeed in France.

 

When you get to college, you'll be very thankful you went the AP route. Even if you don't get credit at the college you end up at, the knowledge you gained by taking the class will give you an advantage (and allow you to play more golf down the road).

 

I ended up with 22 credits, making me two credits short of a Sophomore my first day on campus (and that makes the rest of your collegiate experience a lot easier).

dam i just took ap statistics and ap enviornmental science for the weighted grade- screw the ap tests

Avignon is in France, I've been and it's very nice.

 

Anyway...don't worry abut APs. I took one in grade 10, two in grade 11, and I'm taking 5 next year. I thought I was done for with two, but I realized that it really isn't that bad. It isn't the end o the world if you don't get all As. The courses are hard and colleges know that. I just took two of the hardest AP courses at my school (AP US history, and AP Language) this past year, and I also managed to improve my golf game a lot this past year.

yeah, i took 4 this year, biology, english comp, calculus AB and Latin Vergil. Latin was a b**** but just hang through and you'll make it. Nothing will feel better than going to college and not having to take those annoying freshman courses

You're right, Latin was impossible. I took both courses- Vergil last year and Ovid and Catullus this year. Talk about the hardest test imaginable. There are pluses and minuses to AP's, but if you can get the work done, then it is def worth it. I'm just bummed that my college doesn't take like any of my AP credit.
