J33 3 wood

I have the J33 3 wood with the YS-8 stiff. I don't use my 3 wood too often during a round but I have increased my usage since buying the Bridgestone.

It is a very solid club, good looking head and produces great ball flight.

Very nice club. not that forgiving but long and accurate. A pure rocket off the deck and definitely not a hook prone club

I love mine!! Can't see getting another 3 wood for a loooong time!

It's rock solid, perfectly square, long, accurate, versitile and has the perfect sound!

I have one, it's very solid and long. Fairly easy to hit, great traditional simple design and compliments the rest of my bag, hits mid to high with a very strong ball flight.

It may be premature but I think I've found my 3 wood.

 

Played this morning and although I hit it only twice during the round I hit the range after my round to work on my long game and was really impressed with the J33.

 

The two times in hit it on the course were literally perfect shots. One out of the rough, dead straight, about 245. The other on a short dogleg left that I was able to draw around the corner like a pro. I mean I couldn't have hit it better. Left myself 80 yards on a 335 yard hole. Perfect.

Not sure on that one. Haven't hit the 904 outside. I do have a 980F that the Bridgestone will be replacing. I hit them side by side at the range and didn't notice a great difference. The 980 probably was a little easier to hit I guess. I didn't have the J33 measured but their specs call for square I believe. Mine looks square anyway.

I tend to not give myself credit for my swing. I'm always looking for forgiveness but my swing is fairly sound and there aren't too many clubs I should be afraid of I guess. The J33 certainly wasn't difficult to hit IMO and I may be the world's worst fairway wood player. That's why I was so pumped when both of them went where I wanted yesterday.

Very similar look to a Sonartec SS-07, but a much more muted head. Very solid and directionally stable. I bent mine about 2° open, threw my usual 1061-XX shaft in there and haven't done a thing to it since.

 

One note, they spec their 3 woods at 43." Depending on the length and swingweight you are used to, you may have to add hot melt to the head to get the swingweight up.

Interesting, because Bridgestone has the heaviest driver heads on the market these days, they seem to be made for players who like to play shorter lengths.

 

Wonder why they took the opposite strategy with their fairway woods.
