anyone know what's coming next year?

I know Hogan isn't the most popular brand out there at the moment but i was considering playing their stuff next year and heard some rumours that there is some new stuff coming out... anyone know/have pics???

I know there is a new Apex Edge iron that is coming out. It was in the September issue of Golf Magazine. As for any other clubs, the CFT ti's are out now and they are very solid hybrids, but I don't see them producing any new FW or drivers. I am not sure about what else they might have in the future.

With the potential new offerings from callaway, I really don't know what role Hogan will play going forward.

Callaway will be phasing out Hogan in the next few years. The new Hogan driver and Fw's were a disaster, and the Bh-5's flopped as well. Not too many wedges are selling, and Bettinardi left. The only bright spot is the hybrid, but there is more and more competion in this segment all the time.

Hogan used to be seen as a prestigeous maker of fine forged players irons, but that mantle has long since passed to Titleist and Mizuno. It's a shame to see such a classic brand in dire straights.

As Sandy says Callaway is starting to make players clubs with the X-Tour irons and wedges, and the FT-3 is really making inroads with better players as well. Callaway will soon have all bases covered and will no longer need Hogan to fill any gaps.

Callaway bought Hogan/Spalding/Top-Flite for increased market share and manufacturing capability (possibly patents as well) in golf balls (there are zillions of Top-Flites sold), and that's pretty much it.

I think the final straw was the driver. It was advertised frequently on TV and flopped hard anyways. I'm sure the upper-ups at Callaway decided then and there to eventually phase out Hogan.

I heard Under Armour is considering a full scale assualt of Golf.

Hogan would be a good acquistion for Nike. Not that Mr. S had much to do witt the current lineup.

Hogan would give Nike a line to appeal more than the younger player. A line of traditioonal clubs, designed by a former Hogan designer, in the former Hogan HQ, inconjunction with Nike's marketing machine would be very popular with the traditional golfers.
