Jumbomax grips

does anybody have any experience with them?
My daughter's instructor is a huge fan of Jumbomax grips. The curiousity got the best of me and I tried them today and actually am thinking about them now. I'll be the first to admit these are bizarre and not the most conventional item. It seems it took my hands out of the swing and I kept the clubface square for much longer at the bottom of my swing. I can get a little "flippy" at the bottom and these may help with that. Does anybody have any experience with these good or bad?

I have the 411 on these !!!!!!!!

I have been using them (until recently) for the last 4-5 months). I have HUGE hands and have been doing all kinds of crazy things to grips to get them to feel good - sizewise. The manager at my Edwin Watts calls me one days and says "Hey - A rep just dropped something off that the ONLY other customer that we know would use them is a lineman for the Saints - and he uses medium grips - come get em"

The 1st time I used them it was love at 1st sight - They dropped one of every size and I ended buying a jillion of either the X or XL size. AT FIRST - Bro - GAME CHANGING !!!!. I couldnt believe how confident they made me feel - grips now felt normal to me (for my hand size). I put them on almost every club I had - MONEY !!!!. The definitely took out that handsy feeling you are describing - help me me to learn a proper release instead in flicking everything. Everthing you have heard and read is accurate - They do work !!!. And they are firm - so they feel pretty solid for an enormous grip.

HOWEVER !!!!!! ..... About a month ago - I bought a few Mashie hybrids. When I got home I was out of the JumboMaxs (I was literally buying cases of them) and all I had was a few Golf Pride jumgo tour wraps. So I jammed em on - and put a strip of tennis overgrip tape on them (LOVE doing that - I'm an old 4 year college tennis player - like running back to mama) ...

ANYWAY ... So I put my GP Jumbos on - which are TINY !!! compared to a Jumbomax ... Bro - It was incredible. All of the sudden I had a MUCH better release on the club - the impact felt so much better, solid and precise instead of kinda muted - I gained 1 club EASY !!! on distance. The Jumbomaxs are 105 grams a piece - and I didn't realize how heavy that was. I will say even though it obviously nuked the swingweights on everything - I love em and it didn't bother me at all. They are really cool grips

Now don't take this as I am now ragging on them - I will STILL buy them - but (for me) - it was almost like using a training aid - and it tought me to swing better. I still have them on a full set of irons and my second set of hybrids (my XLSs) and I still hit them very well. I must say with my "smaller" GP jumbo grips I still from time to time yank it left - but the feel is worth it - and I am adjusting. Cuts & draws are much easier - obviously - with the smaller grip

They are awesome grips and worth a try - It was the transition back & forth that tought me a few lessons. I cannot say I ma sticking with the smaller GPs just yet - but it's an interesting comparison in performance.

Yell if I can help !!!! :friends::friends:

ALSO .. If you buy direct from them - They Priority Mail everything that day - I was VERY !!!!!!! happy with their customer service. GREAT !!!! company - I wish everyone handled their business that way.

Robo,
Thanks for the info. Maybe it will work great as a training aide. I talked to somebody else yesterday who said it helped him with grip pressure. He said he couldn't put the death squeeze on the larger grip like he did with the standard grip. I am concerned with the swingweight becoming lighter. The website adresses that with some smoke and mirrors response saying that while the swingweight on a scale will be lighter it really won't be when you swing it (or something like that). Anyhow, thanks for the info. Maybe I'll throw a couple on a club or two and give it a try.
