Bethpage Black - July 9th

Looking for NY resident

My brother and I are traveling up to NYC for the weekend and hoping to get a tee time at Bethpage Black on Saturday, July 9th. I've signed up for the tee time reservation system and had hoped to plan to grab a tee time that way, however I had another thought. I'm wondering if there is a NY resident out there, or two, that would like to meet up with us to form a foursome. From what I read we have a better chance of getting a tee time with a NY resident because of the earlier booking advantage. Anyone interested??

Just as a warning, even though NY residents can book earlier, it's still tough to get through. Most people I know start with 3 or 4 phones and end up giving up when they can't get through. Most locals who really want to play early will probably just do the traditional camp-out in the parking lot.

I can help you out big time here. When is the earliest that you can book a tee time since you are not a New Yorker?

I currently have a tee time for Saturday but I may have to cancel it. I can arrange to cancel my tee time right before you call and try to get yours. If I can play (looks unlikely at this point) I will gladly take you and your brother out there.

Im looking for the same thing.

Im flying into laguardia on Friday August 19th around noon and thinking I could get a 3-4ish tee time on the Black. Being in Ohio I probably have ZERO chance of getting a time through the phone.

I didn't have too many problems getting a time. At first, right at 7pm, there was nothing, but shortly after I got a 2pm, and around 9pm was able to modify it to 8am... no camping out, etc, etc.

Hey guys, I play Bethpage a lot and tee times have been down this year. Although its still tough to book through the phone, ive gone their on the weekends and really havent had trouble getting walk up times for 2 golfers. I usually get to the course around 10 and can get out before 3. 3 and 4 somes are a bit tougher but they are definitely available, just the matter of getting there early. NY residents who register can only reserve a time once a month on black. So its definitely possible to get times even if you walk up and you dont have to get there crazy early although im sure itll help sure up getting a time. And trust me you can get great golf in even if you dont happen to get a time on Black because the Red course is a very good tough course to play. Good Luck guys if you do come to Bethpage Black. Its long its tough with heavy rough, hills and a walk only policy.

Few things to keep in mind when playing the Black.

1- You need to be there an hour prior to your reservation or they put your T Time back into the Tee time pool (basically first come first served on those).

2- playing rather quick (meaning not looking for balls all day, not lining up your putt like its the 18th on Sunday at Augusta every friggin hole, etc) it's a 5 Hour round minimum. At that time in August- 3 PM would be the latest I would start due to the problem of finishing.
