2011 Ogio Grom users...

Hello all.

 

About to order a 2011 Ogio Grom stand bag, but was curious what owners thought of it after a good bit of usage?

 

I had a good look round one the other day and compared it to the Nike Performance, but the Ogio appeared to have been made with more durable materials and wondered if this is the case?

 

I'll be using it as a carry bag on my local 9 hole course, but on an S1 Lite when doing 18 holes. The extra weight won't really bother me, over the Nike.

 

Not seen the SM Four 5 and there doesn't appear to be any other full 14 way divider bags that go well on a cart.

I've used a variety of Ogios through-out the years and they have held up REALLY well.   By far, I own more Ogios than any other bag, but I will say that they are a touch on the heavier side.  

With that said, I did have an 2 separate issue with the 2010 Ogio Grom.   The first occured with the metal bracket that covers the strap hole near the top of the bag.   It basically presentted a cutting risk (cut into the back or arm).   Ogio replaced the bag after receiving photos.   The other issue was a used Ogio Grom that I bought from someone which had a tear in the fabric adjacent to the "back-pad".   Well, it eventually ripped down and through the bag where the inside is exposed.   I don't use that bag anymore.  

I've had issues with other non-Ogio bags (Nike, Datrek, Sun Mountain, Mizuno) though...stitching that has torn, legs that won't deploy, etc.   Ogio is still my favorite.

This might seem rude, but it isn't intentional....how rough are you with bags? My current TM Stratus has a small nick at one strap mount, but i'm not a guy who golfs more than about 7-8 times a month and don't treat my stuff harshly.

I have the 2010 Grom and love it, but you may want to reconsider this choice as a carry bag. You will be surprised how much that extra weight feels after just a few holes. Now my Grom only goes on a cart, it is simply too heavy.

I'm willing to push myself with the extra weight, but appreciate your comment.

My 9 hole course is over with in an hour and a half and fairly short. I'm 30 YO atm and if it get's too much for me, i'll be giving up! LOL It's mostly quite cool here in Scotland too, so i need not worry about hot temperatures.

I have a grom that was bought with the intention of being a carry bag. Sucker is heavy. On a cart its great, but I picked up a lightweight TM bag for when I walk.

I currently am on my 3rd Grom (my choice by the way), and will be ordering the 2011 Grom this coming week. I agree they are heavier than most bags, however they are also built much smarter and sturdier than other bags out there. I've tried others and have always gone bag to Ogio.
