Cleveland Halo, which shaft ?

regular or stiff ?

hi,

I need to fill my iron 4 - wood 3 gap so i`ll get myself a Cleveland Halo 3i / 22°.

Only the cleveland stock shaft is available in my store, in graphite regular or stiff.

Which would you recommend for a smooth 100 mph swing when looking for a low penetrating flight (im naturally hitting my irons and woods quite high). Im not intending to work the ball at all. Just for comparison: the Fujikura reguar flex in my Launcher 460 driver is a bit too soft while the True Temper S300U steel shaft in my 3 wood is way too stiff.

with the stiff steel shaft in my wood 3 im having the problem that my clubface is opened many times causing slices as my swingspeed isn`t high enough.

would you say im still safe with graphite stiff ?

 

sorry just wanna make sure i dont have to reshaft

I play dgsl in mine, they hit a nice boring trajectory for me. We swing close ss wise, so I would think regular graphite would ballon on you. they are GREAT sticks

I agree that the Halo is a great hybrid choice. I've played several lofts with both the stock graphite and DGSL. In graphite I believe stiff would likely suit you best but as pingknight mentioned the DGSL also gave me a noticably lower trajectory, if you really want a lower and more boring trajectory and don't mind a bit heavier shaft you might at least consider the DGSL R or S flex for your 22. IMO the R flex DGSL plays firmer than the stock stiff graphite. Good luck.
