2011 Ogio Staff and Edge Bags

Quick Review of Both

When it comes to golf bags, I'm more of the fashion over function type. I care more about how the bag looks than its actual features. I'm also the kind of guy that could care less about the Indian or the arrow... I'm more interested in how the Indian carries his arrows. That is basically why I am such a loyal Ogio customer, since their bags not only look great and have cutting-edge features, but perform better than any other bag that I've owned.

I just want to preface that although I prefer Ogio golf bags over their competitors, my fondness for the company and their products has grown tenfold after dealing with their customer service staff. Not only were they courteous and prompt with their responses, they also went above and (way) beyond to remedy some issues I was having with one of my bags.

Because of Ogio's willingness to always please their customers, I've welcomed not one, but two new bags to my growing collection (one courtesy of Ogio). Here is a quick review of both:

2011 Ogio Staff Bag
Pros

• The color stands out from the crowd and demands attention. I've always wanted a white bag and this one definitely fits the bill.
• The top is quite large and fits all my clubs with ease.
• Generously-sized pockets hold anything and everything your heart desires.

Cons

• No insulated pockets for drinks. I guess I'll just have to shotgun my beers by the fifth hole before they get warm.
• The Hoode rain hood, which comes standard on most of their premium bags, wasn't included with this offering.
• The plastic exoskeleton looks like it would scratch easily like it did with the 2009 Anomaly, which I previously owned.

The Staff Bag has less features than some of their other top-of-the-line bags from previous years, but the looks definitely outweigh the negatives. I wish there were more dividers, but you can't really expect a staff bag to have more than the standard six. For the price, I also wish it came with additional goodies like a cigar caddy and divot tool, but those are items I can live without.

2011 Edge Stand Bag
Pros

• The pinstripe/red color combination is amazing to look at. One of the nicer designs I've seen from them.
• I actually prefer the stands on this bag over the arc lite legs on my Grom. Seems more stable than previous models.
• The low profile ball silo is less obtrusive

Cons

• No handle at the top of the bag. Those handles are actually pretty convenient when constantly standing a bag during a long round of golf.
• No exterior divot tool or pencil holder. I don't like putting pointed objects in my pockets.
• The Woode top is great, but I would have liked to see the 14-way diamond top on this bag. I don't want my swords to cross.

Bottom line - I will always and forever be a big fan of Ogio and their golf bags, but their customer service just really blows me away. I currently own six Ogio bags and you can definitely expect that number to grow. Cheers!

I'm getting the 2011 Grom for the exact reason you specified. Not sure how they forgot a pencil holder in the Edge and the 2011 Grom has the 14 way diamond top.

does the staff bag have a seperate holder for the putter? Much like the syncro bags did? ...I cant stand six way dividers lol If it had the other one for individual clubs I would own that bag already. Why must they put that six way holder in!
