Had AWT stiff for the i10's, currently have DG S300's in my s57's but have a test 7i with X-100 in it. If it brings the trajectory down and takes some of the spin off, the entire set will be reshafted to X-100. If not, it'll be time to unleash the ho and find a replacement iron altogether ;)

I have Ping i5 and I am looking to put a new shaft in my irons. Which one should I choose to lower the ball fight and a more penetrading ball flight. I play in Oklahoma and its always windy so I need something else. Which ones should I get.

I've got S58 and I3+ blades - both with ZZ-65 shafts.

Since my i10s are my first cast iron set ever, I got spooked by all the people complaining about their harsh feel compared to forged. I had my club builder shaft them up with Graphite Design Tour AD X-flex. They were built to +1/2" and soft-stepped twice resulting in a Rifle frequency equivalent of 5.5 and a swingweight of D3-D4. I could not be happier with this iron/shaft combo!

Eye2+ with TT-S400's,(+1/2") (D4) they fit me to the T! perfect weight/flex/ball-flight/feel/etc...

i10s with AWT S with Ping shaft stablization, club swingweight modified to D2. I needed irons that would launch the ball a little higher with a tad more spin.

I have every set ever made since Ping Eye 2, always Dynamic Gold S300 one inch over standard, which is now there standard shaft for the S57 which is the new bat in the bag. The best tour department I've ever dealt with and everything I have ever wanted they give to me, with a price or course.

 

If the PING WRX guys tell you something won't work, they know.

i10s with X-stiff AWT.

 

I love 'em. People have been ragging on the AWTs but I think they're great. Basically, the X-stiff AWT is like an DG X100 soft stepped 1.5 times. it's perfect.

 

 

let me retract my own statement

 

the x-stiff awts ballooned like crazy on me.

 

I had them switched to DGS300s hard stepped.
