Bridgestone Tourstage XDrive. Any good??

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for some help with finding the right driver. I've had my Titleist 975D for the past 10 years and recently bought the Taylormade R9 SuperTri. After 3-4 driving range sessions and 4 rounds of golf I realized that I cannot hit the Taylormade SuperTri. I guess I'm not used to the newer big head drivers. My 975D is tiny compared to the SuperTri but I'm more consistent with it. I thought that going with a bigger and newer driver will help me gain more yards but that's not the case. Don't get me wrong, when I hit a perfect shot on both clubs the SuperTri will go farther but I have more mishits with the SuperTri. The SuperTri also feels much more loose and less compact.

My question to the forum is what drivers should I look at?. I want to upgrade to the latest technology but stay with the smaller driver heads. The 975D is 260cc and SuperTri is 460cc. Maybe a compromise in between and look for the 340-350 cc range?.

I've been reading up on the Japan drivers and found a few older model Bridgestone Tourstage X-Drive drivers. Don't know too much about them but what are everyone's thoughts on them?. I also saw an older Alpha 830 400cc Titanium driver which I heard is used in many long drive competition.

Thoughts and recommendation on what I should look into.

Thanks in advance

R7tp original driver was 400 and right up the alley you want at max COR,traditional head and inverted cone tech for more forgiveness - search over cheaply...youre welcome!

Tourstage drivers are top class, endo forged, finish is top shelf and they are always very cutting edge..I play the 703 with a Roddio shaft, very balanced feel, and soft luxurious impact. They actually offer a few different heads in the more compact 380 to 420 range. Yake a look at the X-drive 705, it comes in different sizes. Also the 703 limited if you can find one, also a more compact size. Go to TSG and check them out.

yonex 380 cc 201 model is good.
tourstage 385 cc is very good.
jbeam 420 cc is great
yamaha 425 is awsome

hit them all
they are just great get the one that suits ur eye the best
best of japan the quality is assured
the yonex is the lowest quality of these.

but for the price its still v good.
humg differnce in quality to the other stuff out there. but its represent in the price u pay

I've got a couple TS X-Drive 430s and they hide their size extremely well... they look closer to a 400cc head. Clean, elegant look at address; feel and sound great; and most importantly, perform beautifully when paired with the right shaft. TS/BS drivers are my all time favorites.

yea the new ones go great buti still think heres just a bit of differnce btween these and yamahas, both forged at endo ,so ud think they feel would be pretty identical ,but it aint

ive hit so many manymany of these and i def prefer the yammys
they have just got a bit of something extra, . just that littel bit more of a thump.

cant really go wrong with either tho seriosuly.
oh nad tthe new yammms look a lot better than the TS, they went a bit americano in stylin. lots of red slashes and all
yammys just stiuck to plain jane stylin, well if cindy crawford is plain jane.

what ever suits yr eye best i guess bec the playability is pretty negligable.
both smoke.

owari !
