yonex ezone 380 driver

I'll share my brief experience with slicktry's Ezone 380 w/ VTS Red 7TX.

After a few swings to get acclimated to it, I got 4 solid swings, on course, and with a little bit of wind blowing (8-10 mph) with it. It was 9* and with a mid-low launch/spin shaft, which is not my normal profile. I would have selected an 8* with a 7a3. Anyway, the head looks great, and yeah it's a little open, which I like. It has great feel and a nice muted sound, which I also like. Those last 2 things don't matter though, when talking about performance.

I noticed that the smaller head is easy to hit straight. It's also quite forgiving. It has a nice high toe, which is a "modern" driver design thing, and applying it to a small head is really smart. I caught 3 solid baby fades with it and 1 high toe miss. The 3 fades (my preferred shot) were great, and of course I didn't get max distance out of them, because as I said before, this combo wasn't quite the right fit for me, but the shots were really accurate, and seemed to take off quickly. The high toe miss drew about 5 yards, and went very far. This led me to believe that this club is very good on mishits, and also that properly fit for me, would be very long.

I'm not looking for more distance, though. I have my XL Tours and they go 280-290, and that's just fine. I'm not a long hitter and I don't need to try to stretch out 5 more yards at the cost of comfort and accuracy. Where I feel there is great promise is the smaller head being much easier to time the squaring of the face (release). Having an easier to time release leads to more accuracy and of course more consistent distance.

I'm looking forward to building an 8* with a 7a3 in the fall for testing. If I could hit 1-2 more fairways a round, I would be thrilled, and honestly would pay a lot of money to get that. It may seem wierd, but if I hit driver 10 times a round and hit 7 fairways now, just imagine the impact of hitting 8-9! Anyway, I'm getting off topic...the point is I see great promise in this head in that department.

Managed to pick up a mint 3 an 5 wood this week for less than £190 for the pair. Will give some feedback once I've had them reshafted.

These arrived today. I can't see any marks on them. I've had an absolutely unbelievable deal. They are going into my club maker to have Accra dymatch 2.0 st fw shafts put in them.
