Taylormade van coming to town!

any experience?

Anybody have any experience with the Taylormade van that does stops at pro-shops and golf retail centers? How is there service and 'tools of the trade'? I'm looking at getting a new driver and upgrading to the TP line (either 460 or 425). I've never actually been on a launch monitor and had my numbers analyzed. Should be interesting.

Oh, it'll definitely be interesting! If it's the "Tour Van" then you'll have a driver that's fit exactly to you when you leave. They have several staff bags chocked full of clubs. They pretty much have every type of clubhead with every type of shaft made up already for you to try. There should be something there that you'll hit well. Good luck! Simp

They have a crap load of clubs to try, only problem is none or very little x-flex. They always do my loft/lie checks and bend them for free though which is nice

You might want to check with the place that the van is going to be at. Sometimes, you have to sign up ahead of time to be fit with the Launch monitors. All depends on number of people they expect to show up. A fitting can be quick or take some time. But It should be the best thing you do.

I called today to make sure it's still on for tomorrow and they didn't say anything about appointments. I'm a pretty regular customer and I know my sales rep would have mentioned it if necessary.

They always do my loft/lie checks and bend them for free though which is nice

They'll do that free of charge? I just bought my RAC TP MB's this year. That should be interesting.. Thanks!

as long as they are tm clubs, then yes they will adjust loft/lies for free and do the lie board test as well. Plus you can get on their launch monitor and test out your driver vs. their drivers too.

I ended up getting fitted for a r7 460 TP, R7 3w TP, and Rescue Dual TP.

These guys know what they are doing for sure. Fitting was quick and they were very informative and helpful. I have been hitting 9.5 lofted driver all my life and switched to a 10.5 w/ the reax 64.

They had all the clubs in stock and made them right there while I waited about 30-40 minutes. A couple hours later, I was able to play a few holes and test out the new sticks.

The 460 TP is a canon!! I was hitting it in places i'm not too used too.

First hole 364y par 4, was about 30 yards from the green. Number 6 hole (410y par 4) I let one rip, felt good but can't see the landing area from the tee box. Was driving around looking in my normal spot and couldn't find it, drove up further and there she was, right next to the sprinkler head marked 58y!! (bad bogey though, not used to a 58y pitch shot). Unfortunatley, not every drive was a bomb like these. Most were around my average around 270-280 but it's nice to know I can crank this club if I put a good swing on it.

If anybody is shopping for a new driver, I'd highly recommend this club.
