talking ads?

c'mon, you guys are better than this

I know this site relies heavily on ads. I have no problem with that. I know its my choice to click or not click them. But now I'm getting talking ads for the Kardashians! Really?!

I hope these go away very quickly or my time here will be VERY limited.
Hope this doesn't come across the wrong way, I love this site, but there is absolutely nothing worse than these type of invasive ads. I can't look at this site while I'm at work now until I know such things will not pop up unexpectedly as they did tonight. They also don't appear to be infrequent. Two within 3 different page clicks. My wife was asking WTF I was watching while she sat here next to me on the couch.

I was just going to start a thread on the same topic. My 13 year old daughter is now interested in GolfWRX because she heard Khloe Kardashian while I was looking at replies to my posts. You would think that the advertisers would at least know their target audience; cigars, rogaine, or cialis maybe? But I would wager that the majority of us have no interest in the Kardashians.

So glad that this thread was already started; can't silence them, can't pause them...and it is usually two at a time, basically with a slight offset (like an echo).

These talking ads are REALLY annoying.

The best part is that 3-4 of them load up at the same time so I have to scroll the length of the page to mute all of them....

My wife thought I was watching the Kardashian porn vid online because 3 Kardashian pop-ups came up at the same time and sounded like...well...you know...)

Just want to reiterate that these are not here as part of our ad strategy or something. We have certain ad approval criteria, and these rich media ads (video, etc) do not meet that.

How do they get there? Well, the original ads are approved, but then somewhere down the line, the supplier swaps out the originals with these without our knowledge. Yeah, very frustrating for us.

The bottom line is we are sorry for the inconvenience and will constantly fight to correct this.

You guys keep reporting it when you see it and enjoy the site content.

I felt kind of bad making the thread since I know you guys rely on ads for money, but figured I had not seen those type of ads on here normally so I would bring it up.
