I believe the question about Faldo playing Mizuno equipment is actually an incident involving Gary Player. Supposedly Player made a phone call to Hogan and told him he had some questions about the golf swing he wanted to ask. Hogan said, "Gary, whose clubs do you play?" Gary relied, "Dunlop." Hogan answered, "Then ask Mr. Dunlop."

The Faldo reference was that Nick wanted Mr. Hogan to watch him hit balls, Mr. Hogan asked the person who set up the meeting if Faldo played "our" equipment, when told he didn't, Mr. Hogan declined. When Faldo was informed he told the intermediary to buy him a set of Hogan clubs...this is from "Afternoons With Mr. Hogan" if I remember correctly, Jody Vasquez may have even set up the meeting.
