Might be a trick question. He won a 4 ball event in 1938 (it was either Hershey or Miami, can't remember). However, not sure if he won any pro events that were not PGA tour events prior to this, like a state open for example.

Not so sure the grill at Shady Oaks had Eggs Benedict on the menu ... LOL. I think the hollandaise reference was one of his buddies just busting his chops for acting all hoity toity sending his food back. Scrambled eggs and toast was a fairly regular order for Mr. H.

Thin walled shafts. Snapped the shaft on my '73 Apex 3 iron at the range last weekend ... under the grip, just below my right hand. Damn!

Was Hogan the first company to produce a forged perimeter weighted iron ... remember the "Edge"? Come to think of it, I've got a set of Edge GS's somewhere in my garage ... just solved the Apex 3i replacement shaft problem. LOL.

I thought Hogan Golf was credited w/ introducing frequency matched shafts, and that's why they used #'s to indicate stiffness. Could be wrong

Yes, pretty sure the edge was the 1st forged cavity back.

I looked it up. 1st PGA tour win was the Hershey 4 ball with Vic Ghezzi in '38. 1st individual was the '40 North & South. Still don't know if he won any state PGA stuff prior.

Glenn Ford as Hogan was horrible miscasting.

If the subject was any other golfer than Ben Hogan, "Follow the Sun" would have been forgotten long ago.
