Grade 11 Golf Highschools

I am from Edmonton Alberta Canada and am currently in grade 10 at a basic highschool. For my grade 11 and 12 years i am looking at attending a boarding school in the USA. I want somethiing that provides a good education but obviously allows me to golf at a competitive level down there. I was wondering if you knew anywhere that can help my game get better all year round and still help me mantain good marks.

That all depends on how much money you have and your skill level. Leadbetter Academy comes to mind.

With a number of high-profile golf academies such as the DavidLeadbetterAcademy in Orlando, Fla. producing elite-level players as well as accomplished academic recipients, Canada has decided to jump on the academy bandwagon.

The JGAC (Junior Golf Academy of Canada) – the first Canadian junior development program providing coaching and secondary school academics in a Sun Belt location – will open its doors in August in Orlando, Fla. and begin the mandate of teaching students who are dedicated to becoming elite players.

Located at Orange County National Golf Club in Orlando, the 2003 and 2005 home of the annual PGATourQualifyingSchool, the JGAC is the world’s largest practice facility and is fully equipped with state-of-the-art training technology used by PGA and LPGA Tour players.

The program is run by Sean Foley, national coach of the Canadian Junior Golf Association and features personalized instruction, supervised practice, tournament competition amongst critical game elements including; swing mechanics, course management, tournament preparation, sports psychology, nutrition and fitness.

The winter part of the program includes full-time academics at one of two private schools: The Crenshaw School and the WindermerePrepatorySchool, both leaning heavily towards the needs of amateur athletes and students with demanding schedules.

“Featuring the top instructors of juniors in Canada, the Junior Golf Academy of Canada provides a comprehensive coaching and scholastic program that will produce tournament ready junior golfers who are ready to fulfill their dreams in golf, achieve a solid education and become well-rounded people,” said Foley, one of the nation’s top instructors. “A hallmark of the JGAC will be the close attention that each student receives. We anticipate high demand for the JGAC but are committed to a small instructor to student ratio,” he explained.

Students can also continue on with the program during the summer months at the TomJacksonGolfAcademy in OslerBrook in Collingwood, Ont. from June until August.

i go live in san diego, ca and there are 3 schools down here that are the tops in the state. I also attend a new golf school that is getting very big very quick

don't rule out Canadian golf academys. There's the Brent Morrison Golf Academy on Vancouver Island. He was named to one of the top pro's in BC. As far as school and board go, they take care of that also. The schools are not the cream of the crop....they're your basic public high school. The good thing is that it's fairly close to home for you, living in BC, golf is playable all year round. The price is around $32,000 Canadian... For me, I would that totally jumped on the opportunity, but that thing called "money" got in the way...
