I liked it. The coconut is there but not very heavy. If it's a far drive I would say just wait until it gets closer to you. Definitely a good beer but not one I,would make a special trip for.

I bought the 4-pack of Higher Math, against my better judgment (and the comments here and on BA).


Then I realized cherries are a main ingredient. Returned it and bought more Old Chub and 10 Fidy.

The higher math sorta reminded me of mad elf with more alcohol and a pine flavor. Makes sense since it was released in conjunction with Pennsylvania Tuxedo.

How's the azacca? Have yet to but it. Also been heavy in bourbon lately.

Yeah, I'm curious about Azacca too. Still haven't seen any on shelves here. Just the typical Centennial, All Day, Breakfast and Imperial stouts, Dark Penance (which I need to try) and porter.

Azacca is pretty good but not great IMO. It has a good hoppy spice bite up front and the finish is pretty smooth but underwhelming. Its def worth a try but I prefer the harvest ale.

I have a buddy at a liquor store (Lake Orion wine & keg). It wasn't distributed, so it's probably going to be tough to find. I could only get the one four pack and it was $40.

Just popped open my 2015 pugachev cobra, this beer is much better at 14% rather than last years 19%, and I'm a dude who likes super hot boozy high ABV beers. Such a good beer, and now I want to try to find the pugachev royale

FYI it looks like Goose Island has confirmed bottling issues (read infection) with 2015 bourbon county coffee and barleywine. They have set up a toll free number to arrange refunds if you have purchased infected bottles.

Ran up to Monson for some C24/Green/Julius and have been pleasantly surprised by how easy drinking and delicious this is. Some of the ales are a bit too similar but TH is killing it on the dark side -- gotta get some Single Shot for a comparison.

 

The 3.5hr drive is right on that manageable vs too far line but it seems like every 6-8 weeks we make the trek. Thank goodness the wife digs it too.
