I've been visiting my parents in Brooklyn every opportunity I get, been playing Marine Park since November. Tough course with the wind, haven't broken 80 yet, then again the wind has never been below 20 mph. Mid 40s in upstate, darn straight I'm gonna be out there.

Bright blue skies, little to no breeze with the greens quick and fairways lush!
Sucks in winter tho, sometimes it gets so cold I have to wear a jacket and pants...lol enjoy

Same here. Didn't rain this morning as previously predicted, and it was just gorgeous. None of the frost delays we've been having lately, and courses were open and ready at 8am. Plenty of people at Bethpage playing the 3 courses still open. Heard some courses are already booked up for tomorrow.

I think we deserve it after last year's winter.

Out of curiosity ... what is your "low point" (this is addressed to anyone).

Me? As long as it hits the low 50s I'll play (even if the day starts in the mid-40s) ... any cooler than that however ... and it just isn't fun. Sounds likes there's people here more hard core than I am ...

My group and I played the Sunday before Christmas and it was 27 degrees all day! We're usually not that hard core, but our match had been tied the previous two weeks and with the holidays coming up we didn't know when we'd get out again. Generally speaking, 45 degrees is my cut off.

** Oh yhea, I forgot to say that we had full covers on the carts and we had the Coleman propane heaters ( downright cushy eh?)!!!

hehe, but that's australia though.

I miss Melbourne...has a lot of great courses.

Has anyone played anywhere in central/northern nj that they would consider to be in great shape for this time of year?

I have played Royce Brook and Neshanic in past weeks, they are holding up well. Wondering if any others.

So it was mid-high 50s today in NYC...second weekend in a row being able to play in January!

 

Anyway, we went to a local course we rarely play for a 12:36pm tee time...and the picture below is the first tee box. I took this around 12:30pm...needless to say, didn't get to finish 18...but it was almost spring-like today:

I played yesterday too. 58 degrees in Manorville, LI (Swan Lake GC). Front 9 (teed off on 10) played 1:50 (4some). When we got to the 1st tee there were 3 groups waiting the back (actually the front 9) took us 2:45...:russian_roulette:

I went to local golf course on January 7th in Hudson Valley area and found 30-40 people waiting for 1st tee. The condition was decent in January.
