Chikara FIve Grind...?

Info? Experiences?

Looking at some Chikara Five Grind wedges, and would really appreciate it if someone could chime in with some detailed info. I can't find anything on line, so I am not sure what the "Five Grinds" are, and how they would play. High bounce? Low bounce? Digger? Anything...?

I've been looking into the Chikara wedges lately. I ran across the Hakusa 5 grinds while I've been looking - are these what who are referring to? Looks like Hakusa has some 5 grind wedges on ebay that are stamped TBC'd - which means tooled by Carl (of Chikara fame).

It seems these are the same grind as the Chikara V1 wedge without the channel. I hear they are from the same mold as the V1 and have the same benefits.

I forget what all of the five grinds were, but if I remember correctly there is the heel grind to aid in opening the wedge for flop shots. The toe grind to remove material that would only add unnecessary drag, the slot to aid in getting the leading edge under the ball for crisp contact, the trailing edge grind to also remove unnecessary drag and the top line grind to remove weight and make the wedge more attractive.

The Chikara V1 is the best wedge that I have used. I have tried every Chikara version and most of the offerings from the other manufacturers. The only wedge to kick the V1 out of the bag was a prototype Chikara C grind that Carlton hand ground for me during one of his trips to Japan. But that wedge did not have enough bounce for me and eventually the V1 went back in the bag.

If I remember correctly the V1 57* (three dot) has 12* bounce, but plays like a wedge with less due to the trailing edge and slot grind on normal shots, but like a 12* bounce wedge when you open it up. I haven't met anybody who didn't like the wedge, whether sweeper, digger, picker or what ever.
