Kingsmill - Woods and Plantation Courses

Viniterra too?

Anyone have an opinion on them? The River course is closed the weekend we are going to Williamsburg. We're playing Golden Horseshoe Green and Gold, Royal New Kent and Stonehouse. Looking into Viniterra too- has anyone played it?

I played Kingsmill last year and loved it. Very scenic views along the James river. Tough course, but enjoyable.

Just got back from kings mill played the river a couple times its a sweet course! Have played the woods course a couple times a couple years back and it is not as nice but is still a very decent golf course better then average. They had the big break on it for one of the seasons.

As I mentioned in the original post the River Course is closed that weekend- that's why I was curious about the Woods and Plantation courses. Thanks for chipping in.

Viniterra is an awesome course. Played it about a month ago and was very pleased with the course layout and conditioning.

Agreed. I played Viniterra in September and was very pleasantly surprised. At that point, the course was great, just some of the details hadn't been completed yet. Some of the cart paths were still gravel and the clubhouse was a very nice construction trailer. That said, it is worth playing. Golden Horseshoe Gold is a must as well. Thanks for all the replies. We finalized the plans today. Going to Williamsburg mid-May and playing Kingsmill-Woods, Stonehouse, Golden Horseshoe- Gold and Green, Royal New Kent, and Viniterra. Gonna hit Bulle Rock on the ride home. I'll post my thoughts when we return. Thanks again for the replies.

Thats a good selection of vastly differing courses. I think you will like it.

I JUST left Kingsmill, and miss it every day.

Woods Course is in GREAT shape that time of year, as it will be green and flush..it's opening date this year I believe is March 24th. Plantation is a fun little course that offers a bunch of opportunities to score, but holes 10-11 will eat your lunch unless you hit great shots.

Looking forward to a review on Bulle Rocke - have been jonesin to go there for a couple years, but haven't taken the trip down from Southern CT yet. Hopefully this year.

Oriole05-The Woods course is a nice course with a great mix of holes. The front 9 is somewhat of a Parkland style layout, the back 9 is really in the woods and it is definitely a challenge for all skill levels. I enjoyed the back 9 a lot more than the front. I stayed in one of the villas on the Plantation course, I didn't play the Plantation course but the fairways were nice and wide.
