Has anyone hit both the vm01 and vm02 heads? Is there much difference in flight, feel, and forgiveness?

I've tried the VM02's. I think the 01s are MBs, not sure. Lovely blades, but keep in mind that Vega's can be a bit heavy. I still own a set of RAF-CMs in black matte, as well as Vega wedges. I haven't used them much but they're so beautiful I have a hard time getting rid of them. That said, if you do want to get a new set, get them fitted. The heavier head might push you towards a different shaft than the one you've been playing up to now.[quote name='Honman' timestamp='1329038119' post='4265365']

I own both sets
Vm01 with shimada tour shafts
Great set of irons more forgiving than what they look
Vm02 raw with steelfiber 110
Set I'm currently useing vm02 have higher ball flight
They look demanding clubs to use but are more forgiving than vm01
Either set are superb clubs which I rate higher than other boutique brands like Miura etc

Raw vm02 will show wear quickly
Better option in satin chrome finish
Personally I find sole grind on vm01 is better for digger type swing as it has a pre worn leading edge grind which helps club turf interaction
Vm02 sole looks very narrow but plays well
I used them yesterday they take sharper narrower divots
Personally I like the raw heads
People pick up vega clubs and they haven't a clue what they are
Comment to me yesterday
How old are those irons
I have multi compound grips steelfiber shafts with raw heads maybe 8/10 games on them

I have the vdc-01's. Have tried the vm-01's which are true blades. They have almost no offset. Very easy to work the ball and they are flighted to launch low. Like someone mentioned here, they do tend to be heavier heads than most other OEMs which I prefer.

which is exactly why you should stop fabricating and open a golf store so we can purchase from someone who uses what they sell.

I actually have one nitpick about the raf cm blades, I prefer a more square toe. Probably because of a decade and a half of staring at an mp 14.....

I paid $255 for my set, put another $230 into them and the are basically new and raw now to boot. You can stalk eBay deals on the older models if you are patient. I think I have a great set at the final cost.

Do the VDC's play like a cavity back? I'm super interested in getting a set of these...

Yes. They have a wider sole than a traditional blade a slightly thicker topline as well. Barely any offset, low launch and workability like blades.

LOTS of workability, and more of a feel of a blade than a true cavity. They have the wider sole, thicker topline, without a clunky look as phizzy said. It's one of the most innovative club designs that have come out of Kyoei for VEGA.
