Help me get on the + side!
Just got back in to playing a couple months ago after 4.5 year hiatus. Was a 1.7 at my best in HS, but never got beyond consistently shooting 74-78. My game then relied heavily on short game and scrambling.

Since I've begun playing again, my ball striking is much better and I'm hitting 10-12 greens a round. Short game is not as sharp, so shooting around the same scores (78, 76, 74, 78. 74 last 5 rounds).

Took a phone video of my swing a few weeks back and noticed my hands were super close to my knees and tempo was quick off the bat, so been working on that and feel my swing is definitely better. Now it looks like a have a bit too much leg action and my hands are not quite leading the clubhead enough. I have played a draw for a long time, but have been working on hitting a straighter shot and adding a cut to my arsenal. Working on building a more consistent swing and hoping to be a + handicap by mid-summer. Any thoughts or tips would be appreciated. Videos are at 40% speed, 6 iron SS is 88-90.

loss of posture, pivot stall and a flip at impact probably caused by your arms being out of synch with your body.
Really need a front video to see your setup angles and coil going back

For now place a nerf football between your elbows and hit balls .that will help to get your arms in front of your body

There is a front angle in the second half of each video.

Thanks for the tips, never really heard the term pivot stall - but looked it up and it does appear, and feel that is what is happening. I think that in an effort to have the clubhead lag behind my hands, I am having to wait up to finish rotating. This has also created some loss of balance issues at the end of the swing (feeling very unstable while 'posing').

It seems that these issues are all being created by the disconnect of body and arms. I read someone else saying that they worked through pivot stalling by going after half swings and will give this is a go. Will also work on the drill you suggested.

Thanks again for taking the time to look and comment. Anyone else see anything else wrong with my swing?

Sorry i do did not watch the file all the way through.Your problems going down are largely the consequence of not enough hip and spine tilt at setup and an incorrect coil going back.On your backswing you want to just turn around your tilted spine going back.
Setup by kicking your right knee down and in at setup.this will align your middle and lower spines about 6-8 degrees away from the target
.refer to Dan Whittaker-"setup""clap hands drill" 0n youtube

Second you need to practice this backswing drill in front of a mirror a few minutes each day
"depth of turn drill" located on youtube dan Whittaker Gothamgolffix#7@13:40.Note that the left hip does not move laterally going back ,that space is created at the right hip going back and that your left back is slightly tilted away from the target.
