Pebble Beach

Heading to Pebble Beach for a couple of days at the end of April, staying at the lodge. Looking for a good Mexican restaurant in the area any recommendations?

I saw a Mexican place in Monterey right on Cannery Row. We drove past it and meant to go there for a meal but never did. Once you're in Carmel, it's hard to leave and head to Monterey. I forget the name but I'm sure a simple Google search will help you out. Like I said, didn't eat there so can't really tell you much.

You'll love the entire Pebble Beach if you've never been.

The best Mexican food I've ever had was at a place in Watsonville. But that's a fair distance from Pebble. Huge Platter of tamales except they were steamed inside big Poblano peppers rather than corn husks. The one with a huitlacoche filling was out of this world.

The Bomb!! Funky atmosphere but maybe the best Mexican food I've ever had. Family restaurant and Mama can cook!

Have to agree. Absolutely the best. Haven't really tried anything else (as far as Mexican food) in the area since I've found this one.

Coming from Maine there really isn't such thing as a Mexican restaurant here, I figured there would be one or two near by that we could go to, thanks for the info.

When will you be out there? I have two friends flying in from Texas to play the 21st or 22nd. We wanted to play Spyglass as well, but its all booked up that weekend.

We are flying in on the 29th and i hoping to play on the 30th. We are staying at the Lodge will they give me a tee time even though Im a single? I'm hoping to get paired up with another group but it would be nice to know that after dropping all that money to stay at the lodge that I would know in advance what time i will be teeing off. I will be a little rusty we don't get going in Maine until mid April, i hope I don't blow it with the group I'm with.

Even as a single, a [b]2 night[/b] stay at the lodge guarantees you a time at Pebble. I wouldn't worry about working off a bit of rust. I played there back in August and I was amazed how poorly the people around me were playing, especially after paying $500. The entire foursome in front of us looked like they had just picked up the game. It seemed like the caddies actually helped them a lot. I think that day was the first time I didn't mind a 51/2 hour round. Just taking in the scenery is amazing.

i can't wait my wife and I are heading to Santa Barbara to stay at the Four Seasons Biltmore for a week of sun and fun. I thought it would be a good idea to leave a couple days early and play a round at pebble beach. We are flying into Monterey spending 2 nights at the Lodge and then renting a car and driving to Santa Barbara were we will spend the rest of the week. Should be a blast.

Me too. Now all I can think about is heading down to Monterey and eating at Massaro and Santos, or some great Afghani food at Amir's.

I'm not sure I will care what I eat when we get there, we have never been to the west coast probably be blown away by the experience. I thought it was best that I did my home work so as not to miss a must eat at restaurant.

Just stay away from all the overpriced/underflavored restaruants on Cannery Row and you should be fine with most choices in the area.

There's an app for smartphones called "Aroundme". I highly recommend it for anyone who travels. It finds restaurants, bars, hotels, hospitals, stores, pharmacies, entertainment... you name it and it gets you directions. Great app!

My caddy suggested lunch on the patio at Spanish Bay after the round. Highly recommend it. They also have a nice restaurant there for dinner, but I don't remember the name.

YEAH, Good Call! Be there around 4:45 to make certain you catch the (3 female) bagpipers! It's a must do! Then do Lopez Family Restaurant if you ain't quite ready to retire.
