Curious what guest fees run there, and if anyone's down for any type of reciprocation deal?

Ugh, I am so not a fan of these posts. Its Olympic dude, if you were a member at a club like Winged Foot that would actually get you some sort of reciprocal deal you would simply ask your head pro to make a phone call, if you are not a member at a club like that its a no go, Olympic members are unlikely to get excited at the prospect of reciprocals at semi private tracks in Nebraska, sorry. And as far as "guest fees", its Olympic, its where the movers and shakers in west coast business hang out at, if you have to ask.....

It is [b]The Olympic Club[/b]. Not the Olympic Golf Club or Olympic Country Club.

It may seem like a minor detail, but it isn't, especially when you are hoping to arrange a game there.

Yeah I hate to jump on the bandwagon here, but I've lived in the city for years now and I know some pretty influential people. Any member of The Olympic Club is CONSTANTLY pestered and I never want to feel tacky and join in. Take note. If a guest did invite me to play there certainly wouldn't be a question about fees from me. Whatever they ask is worth it.

I think greens fees are anywhere between $35 and $800, depending on whether you picked up the Groupon.

Had a friend play Olympic Club Ocean and TPC Harding Park last week and he said Harding Park was by far the superior of the two. He also played Pebble and Pasatiempo and as much as he loved Pebble Beach he also really loved Pasatiempo.

I played both within the last six months and would agree. I'd rather play Harding. The layout of the Ocean has changed many times over the years, resulting in a hodgepodge of holes. Some are very good, others so-so. I hear it will soon be shutting down (temporarily) to become a place for tents, cars and equipment for the US Open. I think they are also going to redo the greens.

For what it's worth, I also played Harding last week and it is in great shape. They may be taking a little more care than usual in prep for the City championship.

Yeah I played Harding on Tuesday morning and while it was the windiest I have ever played it. (The guy in the clubhouse said that if the wind got any faster they would have to pull us off the course in fear of falling trees, and we definitely heard a few of the real tall ones creaking as we walked around) While the wind was tough, the conditions were absolutely perfect. One of the guys in my foursome said he wanted to just lay down on the fairway because it was so perfect. I would agree that it's probably because of the city championship. We started around 8 and saw maybe 25 groundskeepers around the course.

I'm afraid your "friend" might need some professional psychiatric help vis a vis Olympic/Harding Park, however, he is right about Pasatiempo over Pebble.

Olympic-Ocean is shut down for 4-5 more months for renovation. Wasn't in great shape recently, but should be pretty good when it re-opens. I like Harding plenty, but ocean is better, IMO. Nice to hear that Harding is in decent shape because that is certainly not the case all the time.
