What is everybody's most unique lesson experience?

Explain why it was unique...

I guess it can't be considered unique, because it was the first lesson that I took... but, the first lesson I took, I saw my swing on video. This was the first time I had ever seen a still shot or video of me golfing, so, I had a "3rd person" vision of what I looked like while swinging and golfing, which was basically bad posture, too big of a backswing, etc.

And then I saw the video. The posture wasn't nearly as bad as I thought, and backswing was just about parrellel.

So, not unique I guess, but surprising.

Probably not unique really but playing lessons. When I went on my first playing lesson I improved so much. My course management wasn't the best, but it definitely helped a lot.

Ummm unique? Most of the time I'm with my coach, its pretty textbook....but I learn so much every time I go see him. Quite a unique individual.

The weirdest lesson experience I had was at my first and only lesson. The instructor "Bob" started by putting his hands on my waist. The problem was...I was in the bathroom and the lesson hadn't officially started yet. Anybody else have this happen?

The best lesson I experienced occured while playing a round with a course Pro I worked with many years ago. You see, I used to whine alll the time about how shi**y my clubs were and blamed them for my poor play. On one particular day, the assistant pro invited me to play with him. He was a pretty damn good golfer (I think a +1 or +2 handicap at the time). Before we leave the shop he tells me that he will be playing with my clubs. I would get to play a set of demo's from shop. So I am thinking this guy is going to chop it up since my clubs were crap. Oh no, he goes out and shoots a 71. At the end of the round he gives my clubs back along with a handful of range tokens. Lesson learned, its the player, not the clubs.

Oddly, I had a similar lesson while I was serving under the guidance of a very accomplished magician. One late evening after an exceptional show, I begged my master to please show me just one more trick before I began my chores of packing props and trinkets into the stage trunks.

"Please, Master, just one more trick."

"No, my apprentice," he insisted. ""Another trick, another time."

However, I did not yield. "Just one more trick master, I beg of you." Finally, he agreed. "Very well then, turn your back to me. I will show you a trick that has confused man for ages."

With a soothing tone to his voice, he directed me. "Alright, my young apprentice. Please lower your trousers just a bit, and untuck your shirt. Expose just the flesh of your lower back." My master positioned himself behind me, out of my view. "Look directly ahead, my pupil. Now. Do you feel the heft and warmth of my thumb against your back?"

"But of course, Master."

After hearing my reply, he quickly extended his hidden hands from behind my back to within my eyesight, both of his clenched fists in the "thumbs-up" position, yet I could still feel a "thumb" resting against my lower back.

"Ta-Dah!" he exclaimed.

I swear, that was the worst truck stop I've ever been to.
