FG Tour Blems

I apologize if this is mentioned in previous replies to this post, but is there an option to get the FG Tour X? Or the blems are strictly on the non-X FG Tour?

If this was the fg tour x I would jump all over this. The tour spins too much with driver for high swing speeds.

where in nj are you?
if youre near bergen county, the pga superstore in paramus has the fg tour blems (white & yellow) for $15.

I've routinely bought FG Tour X for around $20 a box on eBay, sometimes it takes some looking and you have to buy 3-4 boxes. I haven't looked lately as I haven't played a round of golf since Dec 2 (which was sheer luck in northern IL anyways) and I bought a sh!t ton of XVs off Amazon on the buy 2 get 1 free deal. FGTX is a great ball as is the regular FG Tour.

The guy above that says they spin too much for high SS guys off driver...I used to be in that boat as I spun driver too much with any tour ball...steep swing...high fades...couple of swing tweaks and now it seems I can hit any ball and not have that problem with 112 driver SS. Miss turned into a hook though.

Darn! I was really hoping to hear the X was part of the blems. I find the non-X generating too much spin and it was shorter by at least 20yds off the tee compared to the V1x and FG Tour X.

I saw the FGx at our local Walmart on clearance for $21.96. I picked up two boxes but on my way to the cashier I opened the boxes to check the contents...and sure enough someone had done a switcheroo. In the boxes were sleeves of cheaper Wilson balls, the ones that sell for $19/2dz!

I was at Golftown in Richmond, BC today and they had the FG Tours (not blems) on the shelf at reg price of $25. They aren't listed on the website as a stocked item.

I grabbed 2 boxes of the yellow to try them out. Since I'd be paying Budget Golf 20 bucks for shipping to Canada, for two boxes to try them out, it's basically a tradeoff.

I disagree. I'm over 120 and I have no issues at all with the tour.

fyi, the yellow fg tour balls are not fancy looking like srixon or bridgestone's tour yellow balls.
theyre closer to pinnacle yellow.
maybe it's just me but right out of the box, the yellows felt tickier/tackier(?) than the whites (i bought 6 white dozens and 4 yellows).
i played both last weekend (played the whites all summer/fall), the performance & durability were about the same.

Let me clarify, for my high swing speed and angle of attack this golf ball spins too much for me. Over 120 consistently? This I have to see.

I am now clear as to your point. As for the 120, I'm an ex-LD guy. Used to be way higher. You'll find a lot of higher head speed guys here. Not just those who say they can move a club, but those that actually can. If I wanted to BS you, I'd toss out my old numbers (that I couldn't reach right now if I tried!)

Not the perfect thread for this, but close enough. Is the Tour X really softer off the putter than the Tour? Just wondering as that's how they list it on the box and I've only played the Tour thus far.

I do find the X soft off the putter but not softer than the tour.

I can't wait to put this ball in full gamer mode and she whats she's got, its exciting to think I can obtain a brand new premium ball for small bucks, every little bit helps and I'd rather focus my dollars on covering greens fees...BB

Btt for this thread. Finally got to play these that I'd bought and forgotten about last year.
FANTASTIC ball, I was duely impressed with it, everything it did, it did well. It will have to fight for playing time with the 10doz zstars I got @14/dozen this winter.
But all in all, great ball for the price, none of the ones I got had any discernable blemishes on them.
Now that they have yellows I may have to buy another 6 dozen or so!

The cover doesn't stay white very long but it doesn't effect performance at all, played one ball for two full rounds and it only shows minimal wear...BB

It really is an awesome ball. I've stocked up on other tour balls, along with more FG blems, over the winter and didn't pay over $20/doz for any. I am looking forward to hitting the FGs again though.

What do you mean? Does the cover wear a different color?

No it just doesn't look as brilliant or bright white like it did when new, hopefully that makes sense.

the ball turns kinda yellow-ish after some play which i dont mind. i think it actually looks pretty cool like that.

i love this ball so much, i am playing all other premium balls first so i dont run out of these in the summer.

I am taking a couple dozen to the nieces and nephews this weekend for some Easter golf ball coloring. We'll see how that holds up.

Thanks for posting this, guys! I just ordered 3 boxes of white FGT on eBay for 20/each, yesterday, but really wanted yellow. Ordered 7 yellow from their website, today, for only 14.96/each. What a fantastic deal!!! It should take me several days to hit all those in the water.
