I love these things. More durable than the X.

Totally agree with you on these, bought 10doz at $20 each at Christmas and i'm so glad I did, these balls are fantastic and way more durable than I was expecting.

Sometimes if the logo isn't perfect or any other visual imperfection. It has nothing to do with actual ball quality. Purely aesthetic.

I got my 5 dozen ordered. I love these balls, but they are hard to find. I am in the process of looking for a new ball to replace my e6. When I did my ball fitting with Bstone last year, the driver performacne was almost identical comparing the two. Infact my two best drivers where with the e6 and FG tour. I tried a Prov, B330-s, b330-rxs, and e5. I am looking for more greenside spin and this is the perfect match for me.

Perfect timing. Down to last two sleeve so just picked up another 5 dozen. That should last me for another year. Hopefully just cosmetic thing.

Thank you for the link OP. :drinks:

This is by far my favourite ball. Played 18 today with the same ball, and it looks the same as it did when I took it out of the sleeve. No scuffing on the cover whatsoever.

I took a chance on this ball based on reviews when buying 10doz on sale at christmas, but that is now looking to have been a shrewd move.

I've played these and liked them. Great deal. Ball spins plenty. Only slight knock is they are not the most durable. Nothing worse than most other urethane balls I've played though so it's all good.

I think they are on par with other premium balls when it comes to durability. I've played with the same ball for 3 rounds once. It all depends on how your rounds are going. If you have to hit a lot of full short wedge shots then they won't last as long. If you're hitting greens after greens with your irons then this ball can go the distance. My only gripe with this ball is how it turns dark after just a few holes. I can telly ball from my playing partners' from far away because mine is the tan looking one. Srixon Z-Star XV however, stays sparkling white almost indefinitely. I'm not saying that the color change affects the ball's performance, but I just don't like looking at a dirty discolored ball.

+1 on the full wedge shot. Cover is not as durable as Srixon Z-Star Tour Yellow (my back up ball) but they still perform if you just peel off the cut cover. As for the shine, yes it does turn dark after few holes. But nothing a little wipe from Mr. Clean's Magic Eraser can't fix. It will restore most of shine back plus it works great removed those annoying black marks left on the ball when it hit the "net". :good:

  • 2 weeks later...

Ordered a dozen from Budget Golf and played them yesterday. Great ball, in my opinion. Made it 17 holes before pulling one into the water on a long par 3 but really impressed with performance off the driver, irons and wedges. Great spin on short shots and felt okay putting. Durability seemed fine and I am looking forward to more rounds with the FG. And 12 for $15? I bought more this morning and will be using them all season...

Best Wilson ball I've ever played and it would be fantastic to see Wilson continue to improve their golf product line. Hopefully they'll still be in business after they're done selling off the $15 dozens of blemished balls!

Price down to $12/dozen. partytime2.gif

Amazing deal on a pro caliber ball.

I've noticed the cover paint isn't a sparkly white as some other balls, but I haven't noticed they turn dark per say.

Been gaming the Zip for the last year or so. Still have a few dozen of those left (which I got for $10 a dozen). The plan now is now to use the Zips in cooler/coldish weather (55 degrees and cooler) and play the FG Tours in the warmer weather..

I have never played the the FG Tours and I am relying on the positive reviews of this site. It appears most people really like this ball. I love the Zip so I figured to go up to a premium ball this would be a natural step for me. I can't fathom paying more than $15 for a dozen balls. So at $12 a dozen for a 3 piece tour ball this appears to be a steal.

Sure hope I like them... I bought 16 dozen. Yep, 16 dozen. Bought some a few days ago when the were $15 a dozen and more today at $12 a dozen. Paid $203 for 16 dozen... that works out to $13.31 a dozen. 16 dozen ProVs would set me back over $600 so how can you go wrong?? I figure I am set for a few years now... Zips in the cold, FG Tours for the majority of my rounds.

I haven't actually purchased any of the "blemished" balls yet, I bought the boxes I have during a boxing week sale. From what some have said in this thread though, you will be hard pressed to see any of the blemishes.

I opened on box and saw 3 blemishes out of 12 balls. They were all black lettering issues. Fading of the paint like the spray gun or stamper was low in ink. Another was missing part of the n on Wilson. The only reason I noticed it was I was comparing two balls together. these balls are awesome and by far the best deal on the market!!!
