I've decided to send my Studio Style to the Custom shop as my parents christmas gift to me. I've been toying around with ideas on microsoft paint for days trying to figure out what are the best paint fill combos to work with, and I narrowed it down to blue and lime green. Let me know what you think on this combo. BTW, is there a charge for the paintfill?

Next, since this is my first scotty and my gamer, which will never be sold for the first reason, I've decided to get my name stamped into it. My name is 5 characters, but I already emailed the shop and they said that the 5 is okay to do, so thats one problem solved. However, the paint scheme for this has me confused. I know Scotty says he paints where he best fits, but if its up to me, would it be better to do my name in blue, with the "Titleist" in lime green, or vice versa?

Next up is stamps. There seems to be a 50/50 split on stamps when it comes to getting them or not getting them. I would get the Custom shop stamp if I did order it, but I want to hear your opinions on what you think of it, as I am on the fence on whether to do it or not.

Finally, certification. Since this is a OTR cammy, do I really need this service, especially since I'm not going to sell it? Or, since I'm going to have my name stamped with 5 characters should I have it just in case?

Paintfill is done at no charge. I had my name stamped on my mil spec (click the link in my sig to see it).

 

I also had the Custom Shop stamp put on. As for what colours he does and where, I think he takes requests - there is a request part to the website, also you can always e-mail them as well and ask them if they will do what you want. I don't see why not.

when i sent my scotty in i was very specific what i wanted done.

i chose white & baby blue for my colors, and said where i wanted them.

in your case, you said "blue" that could be any shade of blue (baby blue, royal blue, navy blue).

id suggest a specific blue. a buddy of mine said "blue" and he got a lighter shade of navy blue.

if you dont say where you want the colors placed then Scotty will place the colors where he sees as the best places.

 

for the stamps, the CS logo is cool, you can tell him where you wan that too, i had mine put by the T of Titleist in the cavity, now im thinking I shoulda put it on the toe.

 

as far as certification goes, i say Nay-Nay. if you're gettin yur name stamped on it, ya dont need it.

why would ya wanna sell your OTR custom shop Scotty if it has your name on it?

 

i dunno, I guess some people would wanna, haha

I sent my Mil-Spec to the custom shop and had no problems with my color requests - of course I changed it to purple, which was also not a problem for them. One email and it was done.

 

I like the CS stamp and asked for it to be placed in the cavity but I am now thinking it would look better on the flange as well... sigh...

 

I think I have about 15 days left 'till it returns.

Dont wonrry about getting a COA. It's an OTR putter. Doing your name is Lime Green and the other in blue would look pretty good. The other stamp I like is the Cameron Money. Another thing on the colors is just put it in the little box of the order form where you want each color. They will normally do it exactly as you want. There is no charge for the paintfill when you purchase a premium grip and headcover.

I was toying with the idea of purple and blue, but I'll just stick with lime and royal blue, good contrast. The purple might have blended in with the royal blue too much for my liking.

 

I'm going to stay classic and put the CS stamp on the right bumper, the money is nice, but I like the CS.

 

I'm going to get a purple shaftband and of course that nice purple headcover, just because they're limited edition items!

You might as well go withthe Peel Out Purple Grip just to Complete it. If you don't like it, you can always blow off the grip and sell it onthe bay

How about a "peel-out purple" and lime green paintfill? And if you can I would get a PP finish so its a little more bling.

It really wouldn't do any good to put a PP finish on a Studio Style putter. It wouldn't make too much of a difference, and you canalways light buff the SS steel to get more bling than you could on a pp.
