I found this ball in the woods...

Any chance this is Phil's?
Did Phil ever play a ball like the one shown below? I found this deep in the woods at Westfields GC in Clifton, VA, and laughed it off as a joke that someone personalized their ball with his name on it. Once I got home, I googled it and realized that Mickelson was actually at one time sponsored by Bearing Point, so I thought there was a tiny chance this might somehow be his ball. The course is owned and designed by Couples, so I thought it might be possible that this ball is legitimate, like they might have played a round together sometime at the course??? Please don't make fun of me for thinking this is actually his ball, I am just trying to investigate an interesting find. Thanks!

Can't be Phil's. He never hits it in the woods.

(Seriously, it seems much more likely that it's actually his than it's likely somebody would go to the trouble and expense of doctoring a ball up to pretend that it's his.)

He hit it in the woods on the masters. he was just able to find it

I guess the question now is...Was Phil sponsored by Bearing Point while he was sponsored by Cally?

And if so...why was he playing a proV in a situation where he's not getting paid to play a certain ball? Does that say anything about Cally's balls?

mind blown

run of the mill driver with stock shaft
a couple of outdated hybrids
shovel-ier shovels
wedges from same shovel company
some putter with a dead insert and

I'd be more intrigued if it was a Callaway ball. I think the Pro V1 392 was a 2007 model wasn't it?

More likely they were balls given out to Bearing Point associates and customers

Call the course and ask if he's ever played a round there. That should give you a general idea to cross reference his sponsorship years with Bearing Point which I believe was before his Callaway days.

Probably just a promotional thing. I found a similar ball, a Maxfli about 15 years ago with the Shark logo on it and number 00. I thought it might be Norman's but turned out there were lots of them out there.

Maxfli? This is a Pro v1 with the logo of one of his sponsors.

The ball I found had Norman's Shark logo on it and was the brand of his sponsor at the time. What's your point?

This is not a Phil Mickelson "personal" logo. Who the heck would want a Bearing Point ball?

If it was Phil's, I would have thought they could have at least gotten his name straight on the ball. Goes all the way across the line.
The writing IS straight, I just am terrible at holding golf balls sorry.
Not talking about how you are holding the ball. The name across the orbital line is NOT straight. Bottom of the P in Phil starts on one side of the line and the top of the N in his last name is on the other side....

ball better have been real hard to find or someone would have found it long time ago
Or, more likely, it has been recycled or sold used after being harvested from somewhere.
