Annual memberships Phoenix under $4,000

Without monthly dues

Are there any decent golf coursse in the the Phoenix metro area that have annual memberships around $4,000, without monthly dues. I currently belong to golf course (non-private) and pay $2800 per year for unlimited golf, cart, par 3 course, and range. It is one of the best courses around and is hosting this year's US Amateur as a sister course. Will I be able to find this type of course and price in the Phoenix area? If so, which courses should I check out?

Check the Raven at Verrado. Its in the west valley though, so depending on where you live could be a drive. It's about 20 mins from my house. Awesome course. You should check it out.

I know Mesa cc was offering 200/month no initiation fee. Ahwatukee golf properties gives you 5 courses for 267/month no initiation. Vistal is like 1600 a year.

Mesa is the only fully private though.

I'd call around, I think the closer you get to Scottsdale, the more expensive it gets. Look at places in Mesa, and whirlwind has a membership deal that I think comes in at under 4 grand

Grayhawk has a deal for 5k. You pay a cart fee but that's it. Two good courses and nice practice tee but not a great short game area. I believe it's on a calendar year so probably not a good buy right now.

I am a member at Whirlwind... I got in for a great deal. They go by calendar year. but is pro rated, then for having the membership for this year, you get a discount for next year (should you decide to stay). If you havnt played there I can get you on really cheap, maybe even free.

Had my meeting at Mesa cc yesterday, I all likelihood I'll join in July. Course looks super fun, nice classic tree lined course with a surprising amount of elevation changes going on and TINY greens.

Don't k ow if you're married or not, but the big selling point is that all memberships are family so my wife and daughter are full members for no additional fee. It's 283/ month with tax for full golf, fitness, pool, tennis plus 3500 initiation payed over 5 years. 500 annual f&b minimums so it's closer to 380 after all is said and done per month so a little Hugh but fully private with recipricals at AZcc. I was there at 11 yesterday and there were 6 people on the course, no one in the pool, fitness area, or range. That means a lot to me as rounds can be sub 4 hrs every time and I don't have to deal with how packed my gym usually is.

Have a friend that is a member, so I've played there a few times. While I believe they could lose a few trees, the course really doesn't seem too claustrophobic. I think it could be a fun, everyday sort of course. It is a good walk and they do seem to have a strong walking culture (in the cooler months anyway). Place seemed friendly and laid back. You will probably need to limit yourself to 7-iron on the short-ish range. LOL.

Lol Tom! At least they have target greens to hit at on the range, and a pretty good short game area. It is kind of a bummer that I couldn't hit driver on some days in the range, but I think one of the cool things about membership is that I'm not limited to just the range, if the course is open i can hop out and play a few holes or whatever. Plus with the gym close by, maybe I'll actually use it and lose 50lbs/gain 30 yards haha although the fatter I get the longer I seem to hit it.

I'm playing in their summer derby event tomorrow, pretty excited to meet some members. Michael Allen plays there, saw his course record 61 posted in the men's card room, pretty awesome.

Played in the derby today at mesa cc, had a blast. Great course and everyone was super friendly. Helped that my teammate and I finished in 3rd, and I ended taking home 125 after I settled my bar tab haha.

I'm 99% sure I'll join in July, everyone was really laid back, and they have some sticks out there! Total blast.

Fore_ is that for the junior membership? I have been looking at their website and am thinking about giving them a call, but I'm only going to be in the valley for 2 years so an initiation fee is a little hard to swallow.

Yeah that's the junior membership.

I hear you about the initiation fee, but if you're only going to be here 2 years, you won't pay the full initiation fee. It's 3500 paid over a period of 5 years, so if you terminate membership before 5 years, you're out free and clear with no need to pay off the initiation. So for 2 years, you'd be paying a 1400 initiation fee.

I like that you don't have to sign on so it's easy to get out, and you don't have to pay the full initiation up front.

Also, they had the range set up with the teeing ground about halfway back and I was able to hit a few drivers without any issues. Better than at Ahwatukee where if the tees ate up I can't hit driver cause I run the risk of blasting it into someone's living room haha

After ending my membership at Mesa CC, it is not a place that I would recommend anyone to join. It just got worse as time went on,and after I formally submitted my resignation, the front office didn't even bother returning my calls or emails in regards to billing disputes. Seriously, F that place haha.
