As the temperature makes a temporary visit above freezing, I can't help but think about when the snow all melts away. I've spent a bit too much time in the golf domes already (primarily the Currie Park one) and I'm dying to get out on the courses.

 

Out of curiousity, when springtime rolls around would those of you in WI be interested in getting together to golf somewhere? I just want to get a feel of whether anyone is interested. We can get dates and places figured out at a later time. But now seems like a good time to start thinking about it.

 

Just wanted to get a straw poll done.

P.S. I prefer currie over the south side dome even though it is smaller. You can get a ton of swings in for $15.

definitely agree on the currie dome. LOVE that you pay for how long you want to hit, instead of paying for a certain amount of balls. That's part of the reason why i'm at currie once a week

I agree about the Currie dome. I tend to get there as often as I can, especially if I am leaving the campus and my clubs are already in the car.

 

Any early votes for where we should play? I am generally indifferent to where, but partly because I am a neophyte in the WI golfing scene.

Depends on what type of a course we're talking about. Something a bit more upscale, a good muni, or just a run of the mill. Price obviously will vary..

 

Also, it would depend on where everyone is coming from (ie, central to everyone or not). Initially, I'd recommend something like Washington County, Morningstar, or The Oaks. Otherwise, maybe Ironwood?

I agree on that. I've been known to sit there and grind for a few hours and go there regularly. If any of you see my bag/set up and recognize it from my WITB pics (which will be up in a week or so I think... changing some stuff around) feel free to come over and say hello. Sometimes I have my Ipod on, but don't let that stop you.

Morningstar looks absolutely gorgeous. Count me in for that being a possibility.

Better yet is the driving range east of 94 1.5 miles. Outdoor and heated. $10 for a medium bucket of balls. It's nice to see a full flight of a wood or iron.

Ok, it has been a while since I have posted about doing a "get together" but I think I have a date that will work. Turns out William (TM Golf Guy 182) will be staying with me in July for some Studio B and some golf possibly along with Pure745. So, I was thinking we should do this get together to properly welcome some other WRX'ers into the area.

 

Here is what I am thinking:

 

When: Saturday, July 11th

Where: The Bog, Morningstar, or The Oaks (although the latter is a bit far)

Who: anyone who wants to come up to WI

 

 

Let me hear a show of hands. I think I will make this into a more official thread once a few people say they are in for the date. Also, there will be a vote on teh course too. I'd like to try and keep it somewhat reasonable as not to limit who comes.

Hit me up in the spring or whenever if you remember. I live a little north of Wausau. I just played Sentry World in Stevens Point on Friday. Not the same course in the Fall. Aerated greens that were slow and alot of leaves.
