Issues with my club

I'm a high handicapper, and a member of 10 years at my club, now intermediate. This is the first year I've played in competitions and despite playing every week I've been told I can't play Captains Day despite being a 7 day member.

 

I have also been confronted at several stages over the last few years over my dress. I have a pair of Loudmouth Shagadelic White. They are tailored trousers and do not contravene current dress code, yet I've been told not to wear them.

 

Any other courses with these issues. Is there anything I can do?

Because the pants are ridiculous and nobody wants your pants in their tournament or in a photo.

Theres no photos taken of them for local press. It seems they are trying to legislate for their own taste

If you're going to dress like that, you have to play like that. I've only played Royal Portrush Dun Luce and Royal County Down in N Ireland, but they seemed pretty reasonable on dress codes. I'd bag the Loudmouth stuff till you're a single digit handicap...then see what they say.

Why can't you play "captains day" (whatever that is)? Is there a handicap limit?

There can't be a dress code for different Handicaps.

They say you must be 23 to play. My four ball has the third best golfer at the club and he can't play.

Life is full of rules man, we all have to deal with them. Municipal courses don't allow tank tops, you can be dang sure some dude would love to wear his favorite tank golfing. You don't like their rules, find some place else that likes your clown pants.
