I know theres the Black swirl and the milled prototype but whats the background on both of them? specially the black swirl

 

When are they coming out? or if they even are

 

Is the black swirl played by tour players? (i no the other is)

 

Wheres the milled prototype sold in stores? like where in the country

The Black Swirl is already out, I tried it this moirning at a local shop in Michigan. Mediocre putter for $100 more than a Studio Style Cameron, in my opinion.

Dang.....I didn't think they would try and charge that much for one. Kinda like Callaway did with the Tour Blue Series and we all know what happend to that

ya. we do. it'll make a great putter on ebay in about 4-5 years!!! haha

Here's what I don't understand. For years Odyssey has been considered a middle price range range putter. Normally Around 200 and under. Now they are trying to pump out a new product for lots more money than people have EVER paid for their brand. I really think that yeah, there will be some desire for their new model, but I still say they are asking too much, too quick. It's a big leap of faith asking someone that has played their brands over the years to start paying over 100 dollars more than they are used to. If it was a driver or even irons or wedges, I could understand. People get funny when it comes to buying putters though. I never had understood the reasoning behind that. They will pay 800 dollars for a driver they will hit 6-7 times a round, but balk at 300 for an item they will hit at least a couple of times every hole.

You can buy the original handstamped PROTOS from http://www.carlsgolfland.com/ They have the 1, 2, and 3 models in stock. They are $399.00. I guess there is 500 of each model. I was thinking of pulling the trigger on a # 2 but had a moment of clarity and decided to stick with my Redwood Anser. They are called Black Swirl. They are not even black ironically! I was told they will release a retail verison in the Spring of 2007.

TGW.com has them in stock. They are aparently in "limited quantities".

they acyually only made 100 of each model. i got a number 3 and love it. they arent really stamped prototype on the bottom they are more laser engraved.

Just a heads up for those interested, the pictures are up at TGW.com.

They look a little clunky to me, with a bit of a busy look. They might be nice though. I'm a little curious about the apparent insert. Similar to the Studio Style, maybe? Never know, until you roll- I guess.
