Slice Help Video Included

I have been golfing for about 3 years and I am still trying to find a consistent swing. My largest issue is I push my hands out at the beginning of my downswing which creates a outside-in swing and makes me cut across the ball thus slicing the hell out of the ball especially with long irons and drives. I recently took a video of one of my swings from the driving range. Any tips, ideas, of things to change or fix would be appreciated. (They could range from anything about my swing not just my hands)

Nice swing. You just have to refine it a bet and you'll start hitting straighter in no time.

There are several things that I noticed.

First off, the easiest thing to do to promote an better swing path is to fix your posture. You can find a video on youtube to get a detailed explanation, but basically stand tall and bend at the waist. You're a little too upright IMO.

Secondly your back swing, transition, and downswing is waaay too fast for any kind of consistency. Slow it down. If you watch the pros, especially the LPGA, their back swings can be very slow. The backswing is to make sure you're in the proper positions going up. Going as fast as you can won't give you any more distance.

Third as you have said you have a very obvious over-the-top swing. I want you to practice at half speeds to: at the top of your back swing first, weight shift from your back foot to front foot. Secondly while keeping your shoulders still facing the back of your target, drop your hands. Third unwind your shoulders and everything else to make a swing. Your transition is way too fast one reason why you are going over the top is because you are unwinding your shoulders too early. So really make sure you are not.

You don't need to be on the range. You can practice this in your living room with out a club. Also perform this in slow motion and with pauses throughout each step, and it will help it retain in your muscle memory.
