Who do you use to book your Myrtle Beach golf trip?

I have used Golf Now the past couple of years and they have been just ok. Are there better options out there? What/Who do you use to pull your trip together? How do you get the lowest prices at the best MB courses?

Brian is pretty well linked in with the golf community, but I'm going to recommend someone completely different - [url="http://www.northmyrtlebeachgolf.com"]http://www.northmyrtlebeachgolf.com[/url]

These guys have the lowest rates I've found for my Fall golf trip to Myrtle. And I was able to snag an oceanfront room for just as much as most packagers get you into a golf course condo.

I have worked with both Brian and Diane at Golf Desk in the past (both complete and golf only pkgs) and have been happy. Top notch service, very accommodating and willing to work to your exact schedule/requests. They'd be my first choice, however.. I've been hearing people have been getting some pretty slick deals elsewhere too... shopping around is always wise, but def check out the golf desk.

Always difficult to give much credence to a commercial recommendation when it's someone's first post on the site.

We've always used Condolux. I believe the agent was Greg Chin....not positive. This years package is Sep 23-30......8 BR condo a block from the ocean in N MB. Stayed in the same place last year and every golfer has his own room.....2 floors and HUGE!.

Courses are the Legends package.....their 3 courses plus Oyster Bay and Heritage Club. Breakfast, lunch and 2 drinks.....$562. 3 of the 5 courses are 4 stars at http://www.mbga.com/players/.....and the other 2 are 3.5 stars. Pretty happy with this deal.

I'm trying to book a spring 2013 trip - I can't get Brian to return my calls or e-mails. He returned first e-mail, since then I've left 2 e-mails and 2 VM's with no responses. Last one was a week ago with the question "Do you want our business?" He didn't respond. Don't waste your time, there's other operators.

I went to him based on recommendation on Golfwrx, very disappointed.

I agree i would ignore you also with that line. Let me tell you when i booked through Brian it was a little time between emails. Part him and part me, finally he told me to set a time to call him, we talked it over the phone he sent me my lineup i approved and made deposit. Then information showed up in mail, then i paid in full. i left email he thanked me and 2 or 3 weeks before trip my itinerary showed up. He is busy and he is one of the best. if you truly contacted him and he didn't return then i am surprised. your loss!

I'm a fan of Brian's as well - I've used him for about 3 trips - but there are certain times where he is not quick enough (in my opinion) is his email responsiveness. If you give him a call, he will absolutely do right by you - there's a reason so many people recommend him. You might also consider that email glitches do occasionally occur. While it's not likely, it's possible that he hasn't received some of your subsequent emails (or vice versa). A phone call will clear everything up.

Having said that - there are dozens of other reputable packagers as well, so if your frustration has gotten to the point where you'd rather work with someone else, try someone else. You're the customer, and he should be responsive to your timing and needs.

I tried using Golf Desk, but ended up booking through a resort. I found it easier to pick a resort, and then use their online booking to find pricing. By the time Golf Desk had returned my email, I already had five more booking options.

I ended up with picking the Avista Resort, and will be playing all of the Barefoot courses Oct 12-15. They were extremely helpful with booking and advice. $600 for 4 nights, 4 rounds of golf, ocean front condo, 2 people.

I also just booked through MyrtleBeachGolf.com for the 1st week in march! I am staying at the Caribbean resort! Very knowledgeable staff and made it easy for me to book. But to each his own.

blue monster used to be on ezlinks for 90.00, not sure if it still is since the donald took over though, ezlinks has some of the best deals if the courses are in their network, resort stuff though the best deals seem to be only if you stay on the resort, they get their money one way or another, you pay a premium on the hotel stay to get a cheaper round of golf

Where would everyone stay and play if money is no object? Seems like MB caters to the masses - which is fine - but is it possible to find a 4/5 star place to stay? 5 star to me would be comparable to a Four Seasons or Waldorf Astoria.

See the other thread... in a word, no. But try Anderson Ocean Club, the Marriott, or Marina Inn at Grande Dunes for higher end accommodations.
