Top-Flite Strata TL Tour

For greater distance and accuracy on the green, Top Flite's Strata TL Tour balls are the ones to stock your golf bag with. Their unique, trilateral dimple pattern and thin, urethane cover lets them cut through the air with more force and better spin control — particularly effective off long irons and woods. 12-pack.

VERY good ball, for real! I've never been a TopFlite guy 'coz they've always killed my wrists/elbows/shoulders and of course we know TF balls would hold a green if they were covered in p-nut butter!

This ball is waay different. Very good distance, darn good feel, and decent green holding abilities... I bought the last 3 dozen at my club and some member offered me double what I had paid.

Excellent ball if you can find 'em.

My current ball du jour. $9.99/doz for what's left at the local GG. I haven't really compared this ball side to side with other better balls I've played, but I'm currently playing 'bargain golf', and since Dick's is out of TM TP red/black x-outs, I've gone back to these.

Solid short game manners. I've backed up a handful on full shots, my chips and pitches are predictable w/o any hint of excess run out. Distance off the tee, and with irons seems normal for me. Hard to compare spin off the tee, as it's been a while since I've gamed b-330s, Nike 1s, or my old fav the z-urc.

I try my best to play inexpensive urethane balls as I have found they're cost/benefit ratio on my game is worth it over buying less expensive surlyn balls. The TM TP x-outs were working well for me, but as I said Dick's is out, and these have been great since I picked up a couple. I wish I had a couple hundred $$$ to pick up what GG has left and be set for a while.

I'd give up to $15, maybe $20/doz for these. Granted that's taking into account the many deals that can be had on other premium balls for ~ $25-$28/doz. Retail price, they're as good or better than anything up to $30/doz.

Fwiw, shot my all time PB last week (72), so maybe I should praise these a little more.

^^ the Tour Ace is a 4-piece, whereas the TL-Tour is a 3-piece. the Tour Ace (aka Ben Hogan Apex Tour) feels softer off the driver, and has more greenside spin, imho. the TL-Tour is an excellent ball at the closeout prices it can be had for, but it feels clunkier off the driver than any other tour ball, imho. it doesn't feel hard, per se--just heavy. i think the Tour Ace is the better ball.
